John Kerry is finding out again that Howard Dean can be more of a liability than an asset.
Dean, once mocked by former rival Wesley Clark as a draft-dodging ski bum, said during an appearance with Kerry today at George Washington University, "Who would you rather have in charge of the defense of the United States of America, a group of people who never served a day overseas in their life or a guy who served his country honorably and has three Purple Hearts and a Silver Star from the battlefields of Vietnam?"
Uh, does that mean he voted for Bob Dole over Bill Clinton?
Vermont's former guv failed to mention his own wartime "service" on the slopes. Well, at least when he went skiing he didn't curse out any Secret Service agents. So far as we know.

Methinks Kerry is going to regret this endorsement.

One of Kerry's Purple Hearts was for an abrasion, "not even a cut" according to Steve Gardner (Kerry's gunner on his Strike boat).
Kerry went to his commanding officer and asked to be written up for the Purple Heart. "No way" said the officer, whereupon, Kerry (according to Gardner who was there) went to two other officers asking for a commendation.
The first officer, scheduled to leave Vietnam, told the other 2 officers that THEY could give him the medal, but HE was certainly not going to.
Source: Gardner in an interview on WBTradio Monday night.

Thanks for this info. Little by little the truth will emerge....but without the help of our so called mainstream media.

I've been noticing that Kerry also insults every man and woman in uniform whether they were active duty, Guard, or Reservist who never went into combat. Speaking for those of us who were part of our nuclear defense triad ( bombers, submarines, and missiles ) during the Cold War and after, he'd better thank God that we didn't fight.

I saw this on TV this morning. My jaw just dropped. The man is nuts.
Oh, how I wish he were the nominee. I wish, I wish. We're going to kick Kerry's ass, but Dean would probably have been lucky to get 30% of the vote.
