Here is a real funny thing. I have seen third world schools where the kids had to scratch letters in the dirt and yet every one of those kids leaned to read, write and do basic math.

If only the children who wanted to go to school (and whose parents wanted them to go to school) were involved, you would have the same result here.

It is the parents. Kids are kids the world over and most would rather be playing then studying. The parents, on the other hand, most who can not read themselves are bound and determined that their kids will have as much education as possible.

Also the parents are not going to allow for any foolishness on the kids part. It is a real sacrifice for them to give up the help the child could give at home for the child to go to school.

The same goes for the teacher. Results are expected or the teacher is going to be facing an angry group of parents wanting to know the reason why.

If only the same were true here.
