I don't care which flavor of Christian you are, Communion is supposed to be received after much introspection and repentance. It is not a ceremony to be undertaken lightly.

1Cr 11:29 "For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body."

The sacrament of reconcilliatiion/Penance/confession is for Catholic sinners to use BEFORE they go to Communion, if they are guilty of serious sin.

The reason he doesn't go to Confession is prob. that he knows he does not have an intention to sin no more w.r.t. his support of abortion.
