I'm sorry, but that's just absurd.

I could see your trying to say they -both- have some responsibility, but to claim that Kerry is innocent in this is outrageous.

Nobody is saying that Kerry is "innocent" in this case, but when you are dealing with what amounts to scandalous behavior on the part of Kerry (in addition to the sacrilege involved) the pastor has an obligation to admonish Kerry (admonishing a sinner is actually one of the spiritual works of mercy, for those of us who have forgotten) and avoid scandalizing the rest of the parishioners.

It's hard to expect Kerry to live up to his obligations when these representatives of the Catholic Church will not live up to theirs.
