I see.....so now all these "developing" nations have a built-in excuse for their stone-age ways --- if not for their collective "vitamin deficiency" they'd be just as successful as the U.S. and other 1st world nations.

This is precisely what the UN is emphasizing "brainpower" rather than the most obvious result of vitamin deficiency -- poor physical health.

---U.N.: Lack of Vitamins Eroding Brainpower---

Maybe that's why they're always voting against Israel?

I guess Charles Murray didn't realize that it was just a lack of zinc.

Funny, I never thought I'd see the words "U.N." and "brain power" coexisting in the same sentence.

The brainpower of entire nations has diminished because of a shortage of the right vitamins

One wonders why our outsourced tech support doesn't as well any more.
Eat a cow!!! Dammit!!!

This essay is wrong on so many levels. They ignore the fact that most governments in these 'developing nations' are communists institutions. They give the people just enough food to survive but keep their senses dulled. Sure how can someone THINK if they're starving?

What if these nutrients were placed in their water supply?

If the UN boosts the brainpower of the little people, they'll put themselves out of business. Maybe they need vitamins too.

Is that Hans Blix's latest excuse?
