[history]
Remember after Sept. 11 when President Bush said he wanted Osama bin Laden "dead or alive"? Some Americans faulted the president for not being, as we say in 2004, more nuanced. To take an example from our archives, left-wing feminist Patricia Ireland complained in October 2001 that since Sept. 11 there had been too much "guy talk" from "rich, white, able-bodied and apparently straight men." She elaborated: "Guy talk is 'Osama bin Laden, wanted dead or alive.' Guy talk may be speaking in black and white of good and evil."

I agree with the guy talk of getting OBL "dead or alive". I also like "shoot first and ask questions later." Ireland should get her cerebral cortex out of her gluteus maximus and come up for air.

Kerry's flip/flop voice has no resonance. No one can take him seriously. End of story.

Valencia said that "the climate of tension and the situation of violence which is only escalating are not conducive to playing basketball and that the team is not prepared to play under these conditions...Maybe they should play in Spain, which is safe from terrorism. I'm going to hell for finding that line so brutally well put.

Patricia Ireland would definitely pick "dead" versus "alive" when it comes to the lives of the unborn.

(A year from now, it will hard to believe that anyone thought Kerry had any chance of being President)
