My point exactly. If I lived in town and subscribed to cable, I wouldn't be getting the full scope of things if I only had CNN to rely upon, because the cable system in town doesn't have all three news outlets, just CNN.

It's frustrating because we have to fight twice as hard - against both the rats and the media.

Yes--it is extremely frustrating.

OK, so they're fielding alot of angry calls. Time will tell if the atmosphere of the panel suddenly shifts from partisanship to bipartisanship. I highly doubt it.

"Oh for heavens' sake! This was not a "classified" conversation. This was a background briefing with a GROUP of news people. The WH owns the info - controls the info - they can release the info if they want!!

Fox didn't do anything wrong. Bob Kerry should be ashamed of himself for trying to imply that they did. And .. the 9/11 commission is going to about it from me in the morning."

Calm down, maybe you better re read who posted what! If you read carefully I happened to agree that Fox did nothing wrong.

Kerrey was trying to intimidate Fox News

The liberals have been doing this for months now

I just called and left my comments with the woman answering the phone. She said there is an email, but there is no voice mail ability to express comments. I gave her my comments, not that it will make much difference. But I asked her about the public calling and she said that they were taking many many phone calls, and most of them were complaints regarding the partisanship. I also complained that the chair and vice chair have been allowing the audience to clap and/or jeer and I found that totally inappropriate.

I agree with you. There was no simplistic enough sound bite from the hearing showing his readiness to twist the facts (though the evidence of it was there and is indisputable) for the news to show tonight to impeach him.

He'll get a little mileage out of this. But his character will show eventually.

After action:

Wolf Blitzer interviewing Peter Bergen, CNN's terrorism expert Peter Berge, who says, " Best opportunity to get Bin Laden in 1999, hunting party, hesitated so as not to kill Saudi rulers there with him. The Cleanest shot."

Bergen continues: "Lack of response to Cole attack by both presidents, most striking. That lack of response empowered terrorists to act again."

Blitzer says Richard Clarke offered damning assessment of Bush administration. (I heard Judy Woodruff say the same thing earlier.)Blitzer reports: " Clarke says Bush dropped the ball".

Blitzer does show one 1/2 a sentence by Lehman. no more than that.

Retired Army General Wayne Downing on MSNBC the BEST rebuttal to Clarke!!! bar none!!! Downing says "Dick was not in those forums, doesn't know the discussions, debate that took place". He may have been in top meetings in Clinton administration, but he wasn't in the Bush administration. " "Dick is offering an opinion..he's a good man...I'm not attacking him...but he only knows one part of what went on, and I don't think he really knows what went into those decisions. "

Georgia senator, Saxby Chambliss on FOXNews reminds viewers that Clarke is selling a book.

Blitzer asks CNN's White House reporter Dana Bash "how scared is the White House about what Clarke is saying?" She thinks so, based on how much info they are putting out.

Blitzer asks Bergen if this administration put enough time into terrorists before Sept 11. Bergen says the answer to that is muddled after we've seen what Clarke has said other places.

The administration, IMO, should have made more of the fact that Iraq harbored and trained AQ terrorists.

They made a big deal over it- Powell even included it in his UN speech. Bush brought it up a number of times, etc. The press simply didn't harp on it because it was more interested in reporting that Iraq was NOT connected to 9/11, that al Qaeda would NEVER have anything to do with a secular country, Atta NEVER met an Iraqi in Prague in spite of the fact that the Czechs still insist he did, that the DC snipers were rightwing white deer hunters, that the anthrax mailer was a white guy with expertise in Ebola, not anthrax, and so on. And the press was also busy editing quotes and even attributing wholly fictional statements to Powell, Cheney, Wolfitz, Bush and so on. Not to mention the press was and is trying to sell us on the idea that all these Kerry campaign staffers are really loyal republicans. All this fabricated news they come up with takes up all their time it does. How can you expect them to report on the real news?

I called too. Thanks for the number. I told her my disgust and she asked me if I would like to email them too. I said, 'Sure.'

Here is the email address: info@9-11commission.gov

I asked her what the percentage of for or against todays theatrics was and she said she didn't know other than they were getting lots of calls like mine.

So do I

The women that answered did say that there have been many calls stated the same things that I said to her and then she suggested that I also email the commission and my senators

Kerrey was trying to intimidate Fox News

Exactly! And discredit the tape and bolster up Clarke. Kerrey endorsed Clarke's credibility publically and was practically slanderous toward Fox.

Man, what a day...!
