"This isn't going away. No matter how many times you say it's meaningless, it isn't. And it's going to stick."

Time will tell. But, just in case you or anyone else would like to wager $10 on charges being filed - I'm ready.

San Francisco Chronicle just returned my phone call. They picked upthe AP story yesterday and seemed somewhat intrigued that there was an assassination plot not discussed in the AP story.

This issue was spun today to portray Kerry as an antiwar activist-victim of the FBI, who was persecuted by the government back in the 1970s.

Several articles were published (plus radio commentary), comparing Bush to Nixon, and citing how Kerry does not advocate government intrusion. Given the chance, he would change it. (Riiiight.) Kerry's going after President Bush regarding the WOT policies--and Iraq. Kerry knows where the votes are and he is playing to that crowd.

THAT is the story here-not a 33-year old murder conspiracy that the FBI says Kerry had no part in.

You're right about addressing issues that pertain to people today. That will attract interest-and potential votes for our side.

John Kerry #1: decorated Vietnam war veteran

John Kerry #2: leader of radical anti-war group that contemplated assasinations of six U.S. Senators

Has all the makings of a disruptor. Although familyofman is more discrete than most. Most of the DU-type disruptors have a hard time making two posts before they go into comparing Bush to Hitler or some other great analogy.

" Since the FBI found no grounds for further investigation & charges - it's a dead issue."

Whoa! You seem to not know that its the President and his AG that bring charges, not the FBI. The director serves at the pleasure of the chief executive and, even if he has the goods on somebody and wants to proceed with arrest and prosecution, it's the AG who makes that decision and he can kill the whole thing no matter what the FBI thinks.

Now, tell me what your source of information is for the FBI "finding no grounds for further investigation." How do you know that?

They had to move the meeting twice because they were under FBI surveillance. If there were no wires in the room, the FBI would not have known too much about the plot. And until recently, I don't suppose there has been too much talk about it.

Why has Ted Kennedy never run for President?

The Dems want this one out of the way. They want it forgotten by the elections. Don't let them succeed.

That's right. Wires and, I suspect, a mole.

It's like I've said, Doug -- if Kerry wants to put all these issues to rest, all he has to do is use FOIA to get his file released from the FBI, so he can publicize all the details of his innocence. Same thing with his service record.

Gee, I wonder why he won't do the same sort of thing his campaign demanded Bush do? So many questions...

If you can go to a party and discuss politics without offending and share your opinion and get favorable feedback then we will have won the battle. If all you can talk about without offending is what is on the opinion pages of the NY Times then we have a lot of work to do. If a young college man can get a date with the womans knowledge of his conservatism, then that is a good sign of a shift in our culture. I haven't seen it yet, however. The last time I was able to have a conservative conversation at a party with a relative stranger was about 20 years ago at UVA at a reunion party where I was talking to a beautiful woman employed as a Ronald Reagan aid. She was pretty.

Quote: "The election will be determined on current issues - not 20 - 30 year old allegations..."

Sorry I respectifully disagree, if the "verifiable" facts on Kerry's record are presented - then it goes to heart of his character and truth telling.

For example his military medical records, if released - could show that he put him-self in for three Purple Hearts that were for scratchs and then got his a free pass home in just four months time.

Certainly if the FBI files show him attending Kansas City meeting where a murder plot against US Senators was discussed, and he then falsely claimed to have resigned from the organization -- that is a real issue to many people.

"Now, tell me what your source of information is for the FBI "finding no grounds for further investigation." How do you know that?"

2 things; (1) the group VVAW was under FBI surveillence and they took no action back in the 70's, and (2) a dubious source for sure - but there was a little item on CNN.com which included a purported quote from an FBI report (May 1972) "A review of the subject's file (Kerry) reveals nothing whatsoever to link the subject with any violent type activity." This is further questionable since it was supplied by the Kerry campaign, but seems reliable. I'm sure the Bush campaign can do their own checking & raise the issue if they want to.

Kerry must think that this issue is important. Until a few days ago, David Wade was lying about it. They wanted everyone to believe that he resigned earlier in St. Louis. They didn't want him placed at a meeting that involved conspiracy to murder.

Can you imagine if Kerry turns out to have been an informer on the antiwar movement? The Left will have to rewrite history to justify Kerry's actions.

Up until now, "naming names" of fellow Leftists has been about the biggest sin you could commit. But, like the feminists were forced to do to support Clinton, the Left will need to add a Kerry amendment that it is OK to betray your friends if your initials are JFK.
