I've done battle with the Bush supporters a great deal. But you have to know when to cool it. I refuse to engage in back and forths. I post my views and leave it. People can call me every name in the book after I post. I don't care.

An example: on the elections thread, you made an inflammatory post about the "Bushbots." This was a night for unity, and people were happy about the results. Your comment came out of left field and stirred up all the same passions we argue about every day. You went back and forth and wouldn't let it go. Tonight was not the time nor the place for it. We won. All of us.

We chew on each other all the time around here. Emotions run high and so does frustration. I live in Tucson and I'm so rabid against the illegals that even people who agree with me don't want to talk with me about it. So I understand your position.

But we are guests here. Mr. Robinson has made his points about how guests should behave. I've been here a long time and have always been free to post unfettered. I appreciate that.

There are enough threads around here where people are verbally brawling and name calling. My goodness, every single day we do this fighting. If there's no fight, just don't start one. My best to you.

Thank you for your advice. It's appreciated. I was responding to comments on this subject that had already come up on the thread, along with the typical remarks about anyone who disagrees w/any of the Bush Admin policies being referred to as "little kids on a playground", acting childish, having a tantrum, and like comments. And they are never called on for their insulting comments and/or admonished, not just on this thread, but on lots of threads. It appears they can say what they want about those that disagree w/them on border issues or some obvious flaws w/the Bush admin positions, but we can't respond w/out endangering ourselves for making comments.

Perhaps I went a bit overboard, but believe me, so do a lot of others on this topic. In fact, it has a bad potential to split our party down the middle. I get so aggravated when I perceive what I believe to be an elitist "we know better" attitude, when it's over a topic that is so dangerous to the well being of our country, our security, and our borders. So, I guess I'll just lurk for a while, or only post mundane comments of a generic sort, as I feel I can't speak freely any more if I try to point out what I see as flaws in the administration's thinking. How is it Bush is so good on some things, but falls down so badly on others. I voted for him twice. Now that he's not running again, I see an attitudinal shift of doing what he pleases regardless if it goes against the base of his party or not, and even if it has the potential to affect the mid-terms and/or 2008 elections. Although, in retrospect, don't we all do fall down on some things.

Perhaps I'm being too hard on him, but the border issue really has me upset bigtime. It's what I see as a potential mistake of great magnitude, by both our Prez and by many in our Congress, mostly Dems and RINO's. It goes contrary to my belief in the preservation of our cultural values and our constitutional duty to protect our borders. No borders, no country.

It's still all so disheartening to me. After 9 years, I didn't expect to be called a troll. Oh well, I think I'll troll my way to bed and sleep it off. Thanks again for your good advice. I really appreciate it. Made me feel a tad better.

Oh, now this just made me madder. I went back to read the comment that I thought was made by JimRob to me, and it turns out it was a comment made by JimRob to someone else, and put in a comment to me by the person I had been going back and forth with. I read it wrong, thinking it had come from JimRob to me, when it was actually that little jackal I had been debating with. Will have to put my glasses on and read the fine print next time.

My apologies to JimRob if he reads what I said here, although I haven't really said anything negative anyhow, just was depressed thinking I had been called a troll and that I hated a website I have been on for 9 years. Ooooh, now this makes me really mad. I'll stay away from the one who did this to me like the bubonic plague. She/he is a dirtier fighter than I could ever be in a lifetime. I knew my glasses were not strong enough, but not that bad. LOL! Now I can go to sleep knowing I wasn't called a troll. But thanks again for your advice anyhow. Man, this still really has me ticked off. Now now, flaglady, hit the sack and sleep it off. Nitey nite.
