MORRIS TWP. -- With a bullet still lodged in his brain from a shooting in New York 10 years ago, Nachum Sasonkin turned a page in his life and became a rabbi.
"I just want to say I'm very happy to come to this point today," Sasonkin said to a roomful of reporters before his ordination as a rabbi Sunday at the Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbinical College of America. Sasonkin was one of 75 students to become rabbis during the Sunday afternoon ceremony.

The Clinton administration repeatedly refused to characterize terrorism as such...TWA 800 being an egregious example. The Islamists finally had to resort to bombing the Twin Towers with jets to make their point because all their previous attacks had been lied away by the Clintoons. And to think these scum are now blaming Bush for 9/11 is mind-boggling.

I can understand why the Clinton administration refused to characterize this as a "terrorist incident."
The family of Ari Halberstam, the young man who was killed in the attack, filed suit against the manufacturer of the gun that was used by the assailant. How could it possibly be a "terrorist attack" if the gun manufacturer was responsible?

Nachum Sassonkin is a friend of my son. His recovery is nothing short of miraculous. The courage of this extraordinary young man and the deep faith of his friends and family, and the heartfelt prayers of countless people both Jews and non-Jews all contributed to his recovery, and should be an inspiration to everyone.

Yes, I think that was a misstep by Halberstam's family. Wonder who advised them to do that?
And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't that gun lawsuit fail in court?
[Rashid Baz] was openly lauded as a holy warrior, or mujahid, abroad. Hamas leaflets from Gaza wrote of him as "the holy warrior and Lebanese immigrant Rashid al-Baz, the son of Islam who took action against the souls of the evil dregs of the Jews in Brooklyn in America."...The many unanswered questions in this case have led some, including Nathan Lewin, the Halberstam lawyer, to suggest that authorities bungled the investigation.
Beyond the mistakes in amassing evidence, these people point to the investigators’ strange refusal for more than five years to see the attack for what it was: terrorism.

I had posted this earlier, but I am glad you posted it again. It deserved it. There was a wonderful article in the Chabad Magazine years earlier about the special relationship Nachum Sassonkin had with the Rebbe as a child. It is no surprise of his miracle recovery to me.
It is another living testimony of the power of the Rebbe and his brochos.

It was Ari Halberstam who had the special relationship with the the Rebbe as a child, not Nachum Sassonkin.

I am a friend of one of the Jews who survived Benjamin "August" Smith's two-state murder spree. He is an Orthodox Jew who was returning from Synagogue in Skokie Friday night.
Smith, as you will no doubt recall, was a neo-Nazi assassin with Matt Hale's World Church of the Creator.
