I had gone to bed, dozed off, and suddenly awakened at exactly 2 seconds before the first Fox News Alert. I jumped out of bed cheering out loud and hit the puter running.
It was SOOO great to see them swinging Yassin's bloody robe, his blood spattered on the street, as his crumpled wheelchair lies crushed on the ground instead of Israeli baby strollers with the responders carefully picking up baby parts on bloodsoaked ground. This is a Mitzvah for every Jew who has seen Hamas over the years.

Hamas Leader Eliminated in IDF Surgical Strike

(IsraelNN.com) In an early morning IDF helicopter gunship surgical strike in Gaza, Hamas leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin has been killed along with a number of body guards.
According to initial reports from Gaza, air-to-surface missiles were fired at the sheik’s vehicle as he was making his way to a local mosque. A son of the terrorist leader was injured in the attack.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Hamas spiritual leader leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin (search) was killed in an Israeli airstrike early Monday, Fox News has confirmed.
Witnesses said Israeli helicopters fired three missiles at Yassin and two bodyguards as they left a mosque at daybreak, killing them instantly. Mosque loudspeakers announced his death, and Palestinians quickly gathered at the scene. One man cried in anguish as he held up what looked to be a shredded, bloody robe.
A total of four people were killed and 12 were wounded in the attack, witnesses said.
Yussef Haddad, 35, a taxi driver, said he saw the missiles hit Yassin and the bodyguards.
"Their bodies were shattered," he said.
Mosques in the area amplified the sound of Quranic verses, as announcements were made calling Yassin a "martyr." The Palestinian Authority (search) called the strike a "cowardly attack."
Yassin, a quadriplegic, was by far the most senior Palestinian militant killed in more than three years of Israeli-Palestinian fighting. Thousands of angry Palestinians gathered minutes after the attack, calling for revenge against Israel, and gunfire was heard in the Sabra (search) neighborhood where Yassin lives.

. Yassin founded Hamas in 1987. He was held in Israeli prisons for several years before being released in 1994. In September 2002, Yassin escaped an Israeli missile strike on a Gaza building with a hand injury.
Yassin lived in a modest house in the rundown Sabra neighborhood in Gaza City. Israel blamed him for inspiring Hamas bombers and attackers who killed hundreds of Israelis.
In announcing Yassin's death, Hamas said, "(Israeli Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon has opened the gates of hell and nothing will stop us from cutting off his head."

The initial reaction from cabinet ministers is one of approval, with some calling on the prime minister to now actualize the cabinet decision to oust Yasser Arafat.

CNN in its usual anti-Israel fashion describes Yassin as the Hamas leader, adding “Israel reports” he posed a threat and was behind suicide bombing attacks.
Fox News on the other hand is reporting that Yassin was the terror organization’s leader and stood behind many attacks, quoting his statements vowing to continue striking out against Israeli targets.

The Security Cabinet convened recently and it was announced that an offensive is being launched targeting terrorist leaders. Yesterday, Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz stated a comprehensive offensive against terrorist leaders is underway as the IDF attempts to neutralize the Hamas and Hizbullah infrastructure operating in Gaza ahead of a possible Israeli unilateral disengagement from that area.
