Well, to some extent I hear you.
I think the Republican party of today isn't so much "conservative" as it is "less socialist" than the Democrat party.
After some indecision due to the stupid illegal amnesty proposal, I've decided to vote again for President Bush based almost purely on his support of a constitutional amendment to protect marriage as being that between one man and one woman. Even that idea is "iffy" in terms of viability, but it's worth a go.
Your possible disagreement with those issues does not bother me much. Your not voting for President Bush doesn't bother me much. I'm still not sure why some folks on FR are so fearful of the third parties.
I'm still not sure why some folks on FR are so fearful of the third parties. Not all third parties. They love the Greens or anyone on the far left.
But they are scared to death of anyone who wants what they want but is opposed to the current incarnation of the Republican Party. They claim that those parties are irrelevant and laughable and decry anyone who supports because they are "wasting their vote".
Yet they obsess about them. I always ask them, "If they are so tiny and irrelevant, why bother with them?" They never answer intelligently.
The correct answer of course is, ideas are the only things that really matter, and the Republicans don't have any that are consistent with the others. Power is the goal.
The emperor has no clothes, and they are terrified that others will notice in significant numbers. I don't blame them.
