I agree with a portion of what you wrote. I'll get around to changing my homepage one day. (probably faster when the whiners hit their abuse button)

But until then, butt out. I have no beef with you and did not initiate contact with you on this thread, you did.

It doesn't have to be a 2 party system. It's just the way things are going right now. And if you can't see the difference between the 2 major parties, then... well I don't know. Perhaps you should look more closely at what is at stake.

Maybe we need a one party system, maybe we need a many-party system.

Horrible idea and bad idea. Lived under both. Both were sucky.

In any case the two-party system has taken us the same way the old Roman Green and Blue Teams were -- to general ignorance, rampant corruption and rah-rah know-nothingisms.

I disagree. The two party system is what built this country. I know that will not set well with you but it is the truth. And believe me you have no idea what "general ignorance, rampant corruption and rah-rah know-nothingisms" is if you think that is what you have here in the US.

Like most Americans, you have no idea how good it is here. That is not intended to be an insult. I hope you don't take it that way.

Wow! It's hard to believe that my old friend Darth would actually post something like that. I can understand his wanting to elect a Clintonite as Senator from his state (out of spite) and possibly even wanting to campaign for John Kerry as President (again spitefully), but accusing me of wishing Bill Clinton should suffer forever in the fires of hell is a bit over the top. I'm willing to forgive and forget the crimes of Bill Clinton against God, man, nature, humanity, the nation, and the whole world as long as he's willing to admit to them and ask for forgiveness and he willingly volunteers to come clean and confess and bear true witness against his co-conspirators and accomplices, some of whom still hold high office and or are aspiring to hold even higher offices. Until then, I'll continue to pity the man, er poor excuse for a man (Bill Clinton that is) and pray for his soul.

In the meantime, Darth Sidious is definitely off my Christmas card list for this year.

Who says we are not for limited government, a re-structured tax system, and a curb on immigration? You apparently don't lurk very much.

These subjects have been discussed often. Perhaps, you could give us some hints on how we can make, "our" man live up to these challenges??

Right now the only goober I can see is the one that wrote this thread.

I didn't realize you were a member of the unpatriotic snob wing of the Republican Party. Join Pat Buchanan at the other site, why are you even posting here?

This is not a real Republican. This is a Bush-hater dropping the bait in the water so he can have fun watching us go for it. We know FR is a great place to speak your mind, whatever it may be. We listen to both sides when they have something significant and honest to offer for thought and dialogue. This person is spewing garbage, and I'm kinda unhappy to see the hatred foaming at the top of the water.

It seems to me that although you complain about being called names, you certainly dish them out. "Bushbots" seems to be your favorite expletive, perhaps it is the only thing you can think of without help from the "former great nonbot freepers?" Original, real original! We are sooo impressed. :-(

And you're an LPer.

No, I'm not. Nor am I a Freeper. I am a mother of two wonderful children. That's who I am.

As far as why I changed my screen name, they are why. I decided I was spending far too much time here back then, and I was, so I asked have my account taken off. I found out though that I desperately needed to have an outlet for my thoughts regardless so I signed back on and now post much less often. I learned two things. One is that even though I stay home with my kids, I still need mental stimultation or I'm going to rot. More importantly I learned that I needed to balance my mental stimulation with what my children need and they needed better than I was giving them for a while here. This, the internet as a whole, is a great venue. It shouldn't be what makes you get up in the morning, though. My girls do that for me.

If I could have come back as riley1992, though, I would have.

Then the debate has served its purpose, no? It has folks like you thinking about the issue. No matter which side you eventually end up on, it's a win because you subject the proposition to logical analysis.

That is what I try to do.:)

And sometimes I come down on the side of the debate that some in third parties advocate. Sometimes I don't.

But it remains interesting as long as the debate is civil. The moment it quits being an exchange of ideas and becomes a "you're a poopy-head!" shouting match I split.

LOL......sure reads like it.

As a 52 year old Vietnam Veteran, seems like you, and others, doth protest to much. What are you protecting? If FR is that important, it doesn't need to respond to disgruntled, former Freepers.

But perfect for a nice toasted cheese sandwich with a steaming bowl of tomato soup on a cold day.

Otherwise, you're right. Bland.
