I just caught a clip of this on ESPN and couldn't help but notice the similarities between what Spike Lee said and that of what Rush said. Not only did he say Bird was the most overated player, he said that the "white media" would make you think that there were no great players before Larry Bird. I could tell that McKindry was uncomfortable with the story and it's going to be interesting to see how other's respond. Maybe we can get a comment from Isiah Thomas and Dennis Rodman who said that if Bird was a black man, he'd be just another average B-ball player.

Spike Lee is one of the biggest race-baiters out there and someone needs to call him on his own racism.

Don't count on it, don't you know according to the Revolving Rev. Jesse Jackson, only whites are racists.

Personally, I think Magic was over-rated and Bird was under-rated. Bird did some inhuman things aevery time I watched him.
And the team Larry had was nowhere near as talented as the Lakers.

What's interesting is that ESPN is making commercials of these celebs commenting on NBA players. One of those commercials even has Samuel L. Jackson endorsing Bird as the player he'd want with the ball in his hand when time was running down. I want to see if ESPN includes all of Spike's comments in this commercial.

Find me another guy that was as good a person off the Court as he was a player on the court, you win your arguement ,Spike, you little ball of hate.

Majic Johnson called Bird the greatest playerI think anyone who has been called the greatest player is hovering on the edge of being overrated. Anyone.

One thing for sure, Bird had a brain and was ahead of the others on the floor at all times.

"Bird did some inhuman things aevery time I watched him."
That is pretty much what Johnson said!

I dunno man, Magic did some amazing stuff--like the time he played center when Jabbar was hurt and won the NBA championship. A point guard playing center in an NBA championship series?
Also Bird had great talent with him at Boston. McHale is a hall of famer as is Dennis Johnson I believe. Ainge wasn't bad either.
Its good enough for me that they both were great--and Spike Lee can go to hell.

I was a big Celtic fan during his career, white or black, he was one of the greatest....

Name the last good movie Spike Lee directed. OK, that may be too difficult. Name any good movie that Spike Lee directed.

I trust Magic Johnson's opinion of Larry Bird as I do Larry Bird's opinion of Magic Johnson. They considered each other their greatest foe on court. Off the court they were great friends.
