Kennedy: CIA Will Confirm Kerry Met with Foreign Leaders
NewsMax.com ^ | Carl Limbacher

Defending Sen. John Kerry against charges he fabricated claims of meetings with foreign leaders who offered their political support, Sen. Ted Kennedy said Sunday that the Central Intelligence Agency will verify Kerry's account.

Asked to identify the leaders Kerry met with, Kennedy told NBC's "Meet the Press," "The CIA knows it . They work for the president. They can give him the names of all of those countries."

Kennedy complained that the White House still hasn't identified the members of Vice President Dick Cheney's Energy task Force, or the White House official who leaked the name of CIA employee Valerie Plame.

But when pressed on Kerry's alleged meetings with foreign leaders, Kennedy reiterated the claim that the CIA will back his account up.

"He's obviously - he's met leaders over a period of time," he told "Meet the Press." "And anyone - the CIA knows who they - if the White House is really interested in those leaders, they control the CIA, the CIA gives them those lists."

Ted--what a Maroon you are! I know that it's tough when your candidate has been AWOL for a week from the campaign, but weren't you paying attention? Even if this lie, or exaggeration, is true; the endorsements of Malaysia, or Spain, or France, or North Korea, just hurt Kerry. There is not a single foreign leader--even Tony Blair--who could be a plus to John F'ing Kerry.

Gee, wouldn't it just be easier for Kerry to tell us?

Call me whacky but doesn't this strike any of you as a little odd? Earlier this week you have a Kerry supporter/author saying that, yes, he was indeed at the Kansas City meeting and now there is JEffingK's own senior senator saying that he was meeting with foreign leaders and I'll have the CIA back it up. Fat Ted is not even stupid enough to do something like that. I honestly believe that they are being told what to do and we have seen just the start of the leaks and witnesses.

As usual, a convoluted bit of stupidity from Fat Boy. First, Kerry has "obviously" met with world leaders. Next, it isn't quite so obvious (Kennedy merely asserts that it's true).

Then? The comedy continues. Fat Boy asserts that it isn't the business of Kerry to prove his assertion, but that it's simply that, if the White House was "really interested in those leaders" they would know who they are (the insinuation being that the entire thing is merely a matter of politics).

Fat Boy doesn't have a head that actually contains a brain; he has a container for a head that contains nothing more than hot air and booze.

Kennedy was really out of it this morning with his speech mannerisms. Decades of alcohol have taken their toll.

Good observation, especially since the Boston Globe reporter who originally published the "foreign leader" quote now says that Kerry never said that - but Teddy is implying that these meetings did happen.

I honestly believe that they are being told what to do

I respectfully disagree, they're just too disjointed. During the Clinton years, the media and politicians lied with military precision. The Kerry camp is all over the map on just this one issue.

Maybe that's the way it worked during the Clinton Administration, when White House campaign strategists used the CIA and FBI for opposition research.

Did Teddy just give something away, here?

wonder how many people it takes to get TK back upright when he falls.
I can't get rid of the vision of the "man dressed in black" at one of Kerry's rallies. Was he trying to make himself smaller (didn't work) or was he trying out for the part of the "Don"?
