I was at the rally today, and was one of the lucky people to get to shake his hand, even if it was fingers instead of the whole hand. My friend and I were down on the floor to his left about 15 or 20 feet. He was fantastic, and energized by the large crowd. He does look tired, but perked up for us. I just got home,it is a two hour drive from where I live, and I left my house at 515am. We got there early and waited over three hours for him. His speech was over an hour long with the many interruptions with applause, but everyone was thrilled, and very happy. They had good entertainment with a young American Samoan group, and billy ray cyrus. They also had former pittsburgh steeler Lynn Swann speak.Great day all around, and worth the agony of de feet LOL.

I'm sooooo thrilled for you! Sounds like all the time and waiting was well worth it ... especially since you got to shake his hand, sort of.
Do you have any pictures that you can post?

Was the enthusiasm and energy at the rally as intense as it seemed on television?!
I just loved the President's introduction -- turning off the general lighting while keeping spotlights/lasers on the flags, then raising the lights as the President 'unexpectedly' enters thru the crowd rather than the formal entry. The crowd reaction, the music, the LOVE was AWESOME! I get pumped just thinking about it!!

That is so awesome that you got to see the speech live and in person. I bet the electricity in the room was unbelievable.

LUCKY YOU. I know that the drive there was long, and the drive back was long, and the wait there was long. But I bet you were still energized by the time you got home because these events are amazing. Seeing the President, doing a counter protest FOR HIM, is awesome and you just want to tell everyone about the experience. You will go to work tomarrow, and that is all you will think about and want to talk about.
WE MUST ALL DO WHAT YOU DID TODAY. THIS NATION NEEDS US, THIS PRESIDENT NEEDS US AND OUR CHILDREN NEED US TO DO THIS. WE MUST BE THERE AND SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS OF PRESIDENT GW BUSH. Whether it be a yard sign, volunteering at your republican headquarters, blockwalking with info. WE must all do our part.
If you don't believe me, then go to democraticundergroud.com and see what WACKOS we are up against.
cheers, guido
