SINCE a newspaper reader's attention span is short, I suggest the use of sound bytes which are easy to read and TO REMEMBER. They are as follows, all in caps:

I am bewildered by John Doe’s use of the term “immoral war” in his recent letter. What does he think is immoral about PROTECTING AMERICANS, ending brutality, the raping of women before their families, torturing dissidents, and imprisoning children IN IRAQ? What is immoral about enabling Iraqis to create a constitution, allowing freedom of religion and speech? Where is the immorality in improved economic conditions, potential for prosperity, or education of boys and girls in safe, clean schools?

Our son has just spent one year of his young life serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and we are proud that he has participated in something so noble and right. We are proud that he is serving under a Commander in Chief who respects, and is LOVED by his troops; who values their lives and sacrifice, and who weighed heavily the costs before engaging troops in Iraq as part of the greater War on Terror. Iraq under Saddam Hussein bred and supported terrorism, and actively developed WMD programs, without which, the region, and the world are more secure. There is nothing ‘immoral’ about ending his regime.

Ironically, Doe’s candidate John Kerry voted for the war he considers immoral. But Kerry also voted against supporting the troops with protective vests, supplies and pay. Now Kerry claims he is against the war and for the troops, in spite of the record, and said, “I voted for the $87 billion before I voted against it.” Is that because he ONCE supported the troops AND NO LONGER DOES? Perhaps his problem is that he lacks core values on which to base his political decisions.

The prospect of a Commander in Chief like Kerry, whose values ARE BASED ON POLITICS; who votes against weapons and military pay, and who will rely on opinions of ANTI-AMERICAN foreign leaders to determine his policy on American security, SHOULD FRIGHTEN ALL AMERICANS.

In the coming months we will see distortion and omission by a media attempting to hide the reality of who John Kerry is. Kerry’s ‘truth’ depends on the crowd he is addressing; President Bush just tells the truth.

For what it's worth, Ohio. Your article is, as always, excellent.

Yeah it was immersion. She's glad that she has done it. When I was baptised it was private.

Now, it's quite a production. She still doesn't know that they put her name up on the screen in two foot high letters!

Well if she's shy, don't tell her! Will they be putting her picture in the church newsletter? Better not tell her that either. :-)

It's not WHAT you know........it's WHO you know.

Do you both want your names added, or royalites on the profits made from publishing this letter? ;o)

Good suggestions! And you kind of added my sentence, too, about frightening ALL Americans!

Between the all of us writers, we certainly should be able to make a difference!

PS FOX showed a clip of Kerry on vacation skiing, after having fallen down on his a**. (cause that's what he is). It was a nice looonnngggg clip--I bet 15-20 sec. of him just sitting there in the snow. LOL!

I noticed that, homemom. Your suggestion was right there in kitkat's revision. :o)

(And she came in at only 349 words!)

Good point! She doesn't need to know about the big letters.

They fortunately don't put the pictures in the bulletin, just names.

My kids just got home from the mall, so I'm signing off for awhile.

I'll talk to you tomorrow night.

(by the way, the journal is in the mail.)

I was just kidding. My sleep patterns are so weird that it's difficult to gauge when I get to find stuff here in real time or later (as usual). ... Today there's a conspiracy keeping me from my nap, so I was here. I blame Bush! LOL

WOW -- I just read your letter-to-the-editor . . . pithy, pragmatic, passionate and patriotic! Most importantly, it's written by the MOTHER of a BRAVE SOLDIER -- that's all the readers of the paper need or want to know!!!

BRAVO!

Are you around today, or is Brandon keeping you too busy to check in? Hope all is well with you and Mike and Jake.

Hope you had a good day!

I haven't heard since Fri about Jake...he's doing good and gaining weight.

I talked to Mike about 1pm today...he's anxious to get out of Germany...he hates it there...lots of peace demonstrators yesterday so he didn't leave the base...they hate Americans...he's hoping to be out of there Wed....he's a little nervous about his face and having a crater there... I told him that's what plastic surgery is for.
Hopefully, by the time they bring Brandon back it will be bathtime and close to bed time....Im pooped.
