Bill Gertz usually has a good take on affairs.
He is on Gretta's program a lot.

It will be interesting to see how that all plays out. Billy boy had 8 YEARS to do something about it, and like you said, how many attacks about which he did nothing? President Bush had less than 8 MONTHS.

I also wish people would remember that no one even concieved of people doing something so horrible and evil as to fly four airplanes into buildings (or with brave passengers, the ground). There is just no way (IMHO) they could have anticipated that. Suspected something? Of course, but nothing like that.

Freedom is indeed in good hands!
This was actually a rally to counter the anti-war demonstration in our capitol, today...

Thanks for the great pix. I KNEW one of you wonderful people would put on the Dose tonight. We would have been so disappointed otherwise.

I heard Laura Ingraham's radio show today, and she had a medley of songs for Ketchup Boy's campaign. Among them were, "Just a Gigolo," and "Puttin' on the Ritz."

I'm glad Mike is doing better. Did he remember YOUR presents? Brandon will look adorable in the jacket. :-) What do you have planned for tomorrow?

Praying for Mike to get home ASAP . . . plastic surgeons can do wonders . . . did they tell him the surgery might be extensive or something, is that why he's so worried about it?

They won't offer him a return to Iraq, will they???? Tell him that if he's even thinking about taking it you're going to have to injure him (just a little!) so he can't go. Just poke him in the eye or kick him in the knee or something. :-)

***Other than that, he's good and can't wait to get out of Germany and back to the US.***

And I bet you can't wait to get him back!

Ohhhhhhh, fabulous pic of Bush in his cowboy hat. How did I miss that one before? No problem, thanks to you. It is now tucked in my file.

Bill Gertz also mentioned that Bush barely had his base offices staffed by 9/11. Bush was so intent on doing things properly, he wouldn't let any appointments take their place until they were cleared by the Congress .. meaning quite a few of the important positions were not filled yet .. and that was partly because of the egotistical stalling by democrat members of the senate. Maybe we could have done more .. except for the dispicable treatment of the Bush admin by the democrats.

My theory .. this is just another attempt to blame Bush for the dems' failures. It won't work. Why? Because the public is already aware the dems constant blaming Bush routine is not legitimate, and it's falling on deaf ears.

I smiled when I read the first words of your Scripture choice tonight, as I've been going around the house and out of doors singing, "Give thanks with a grateful heart," all day.

Forgiven!

The deal is, not one picture of each side by side, by W and his oppoonent in the same photo.

Somehow, W's influence seems to temper the idiocy somewhat, whereas if the dems are shown in the light of their own glory (cough, cough), all that ugliness just gets to be too much. It wouldn't be Sanity Island if we let the opposition pull up beach chairs and clutter up the view.

I hope Gertz is right about the pandora box....I have no doubt that this administration will fight back, they know what's coming and what they are up against...I just hope they don't wait too long when this battle starts.

The trick is a Q-tip and Vaseline to get that type of lipstick removed.

Thanks for checking and for the names on the other brands. I wasn't aware of them.

It's a very long-overdue product, IMO. I love it that it doesn't smudge my clothes, that I can drink hot tea without leaving half my mouth on the cup, etc.

According to the caption, he's waiting to greet the Torch Runners at the White House. Glad you liked it.

I agree .. but there were several comments about Clarke pushing his book, and the fact he was formerly with the Bush admin (I didn't hear them talking about why he left), but I would guess there was no love lost. Clarke's testimony should be very suspect .. in my opinion.

I just heard a clip from Clark on the radio, saying that Bush has a lot of nerve claiming he's done so much about Iraq when he KNEW about the threats before 9/11. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!

IMO they're already starting by limiting what the President will do--only be questioned for an hour, etc. I heard today that Condy refused to be questioned in public because she said it's not appropriate--something about national security issues, which I agree with.

IIRC he was demoted...the kiss of death,....that's as good as getting fired, they just wait for his resignation and he obliged....but, with a grudge. He'll be played up like Snow by the media, but I imagine the administration has the goods on him, he was demoted for some reason....this will be interesting.

I have some of Gertz's books including
"Breakdown" How America's Intelligence
Failures Led to Sept. 11

Another good one, "Losing Bin Laden" by R. Miniter
How Clinton's Failures unleashed Global Terror.

What many people don't understand, Bush may have put
in his own people in the various depts. but on the
next levels be it second, third, or whatever many are the
same folks that served with Clinton, it's called
civil service. Having worked civil service for many yrs.
it is a sick system.
