From some of the reports I've seen so far, the anti-war protester numbers are much lower than the left anticipated. Their support and funding has fallen off a great deal during the past year.

I was part of the Milwaukee gathering a few miles to the north.

I have remembered though about the "Al Qaeda vs Al Qaida" spelling!!! Everytime someone would point out that you used an 'i', I would respond "but we had to spell it that way to make sure you understood" (or something very similar).

Chicago is a terrific city--my daughter went to school there and I used to go there for business quite a bit. Even my wife, who hates large cities, loves Chicago!

One more point: I still get the impression that, without the police presence these lefty clowns wouldn't be happy until downtown was completely trashed. My opinion, anyway.

Well, normally I would believe this, and it was probably a 95% inevitability giving the general history of the groups involved. I did have an uplifting conversation with one of the scarf faced black bloc individuals just before we left.

Remember the eff "communist" sign, this young adult was conversive, something I was surprised at after he recognized me as "oh, you"...

In short, you're probably right, sh%^ would have happened, but I do feel a little more optimistic about having conversations. Not that I believe we can turn these individuals into anything but leftists, but...
