"Audemus jura nostra defendere" has been translated as: "We Dare Maintain Our Rights" or "We Dare Defend Our Rights." This Latin phrase is on the state coat of arms completed in 1923.
TOPICS: Business/Economy; Constitution/Conservatism; Crime/Corruption; Culture/Society; Foreign Affairs; Government; Politics/Elections; US: California; US: District of Columbia; US: Massachusetts; US: New York; US: Ohio; War on Terror
KEYWORDS: 2ndamendment; audemusjuradefendere; bang; banglist; cfr; commonwealthclub; defend; freedom; lapierre; nra; rights; wellstone
Wayne LaPierre really did a great job. He cites a
Zogby poll (I think this is the one) which is amazing.
Our freedoms are well-supported by Americans!
He goes after the Wellstone amendment, the failure to protect our firearms industry, which he correctly characterizes as an essential component of our national defense.
Give a listen and pass it on.

I learned the Alabama state motto from you. Here it is again: "Audemus jura nostra defendere." How is it pronounced?

I've always liked, "Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain." Its on the Iowa state flag.
