I'm still lost now. I found another picture, and right clicked on the image. Then I tried to copy the URL, and I still get the red box. I know you can't spend all night trying to explain it, but at least sometimes I know I will be successful.

From
HTML Sandbox:Also newbies need to know how to how important it is to SIZE their pictures. Telling browsers how tall and wide your picture is supposed to be allows them to fill in the rest of the page first and then fill in your picture. If you don't tell the browsers how tall and wide your picture is supposed to be they have to fill in your picture first and the rest of the page afterwards(ever have a 100 reply thread hang up on post #63 because some jerk is larding it down with unsized pictures?). People......stop the madness.
Here's unsized format:
< img src="http://www.FreeRepublic.com/images/frlogo.gif" > Here is the same image sized:
< img src="http://www.FreeRepublic.com/images/frlogo.gif" height="130" width="150" >
You can tell what height and width to make it by left clicking on the image and choosing 'view image'. Look at the pixel numbers at the very top of your screen. Or you can just punch in a height and width, hit preview and see if it looks right, if it doesn't go back and adjust it.

Hey I did it (C-130). Wow even I can do this stuff. That HC-130 is a Combat Search and Rescue bird out of Patrick AFB, and before someone points out that it says on the tail its from Portland. Yes I know we got it from there, we just did not change the tail flash yet. It should read FL. I want to thank everyone for the help. It is great that freepers help so quickly and might I add very little ridicule. Thanks again everyone. By the way I was in the C-130 (right seat).

Most pictures will end in a .gif or a .jpg, make sure you see that. Other than that, just keep practicing, this is as good a thread as any to give it a shot. Good luck!

Not only that, it makes the thread look neater when an image is smaller than the whole page!

How do I change the size of a picture that is too large?
To: ConservativeMan55
Ah, of course, that was Ms. Vespa in post #13. I got my Fox babes mixed up.
What can I say but,"I'm going to take Vespa, then onto Dhue, then onto Nora O'Donell... yeeeeeeeaaaaahhhhhrrrrghhh".

Then I tried to copy the URL, and I still get the red box. I also have had that problem. One way of getting around it, is to:
- look up a pic already posted on FR
- click for page info, and identify where it is. You will see it end in jpg.
- copy and paste that code with the < img scr= attached.
- erase the http code for the existing picture, but leave the html codes at either end, and insert the one you want.
- then use this text to post.
I know that sounds cumbersome, but it has worked for me.
