Tonight is the one-year anniversary of the commencement of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Where are all the Sit Room regulars?! I thought it might be a good idea to resurrect the Situation Room for a "reunion". Does anyone still have a ping list?

I just walked by the TV and they were showing that camera on ACHMED's PARKING GARAGE! (Alas, no Achmed). No hammering could be heard at the time. I haven't seen any "traffic circle" shots yet, but they'll have to show them eventually.

But PRETTY CHICKEN was one of the correspondents recalling where he was that night (under his bed)!

Funniest memories:

--Pretty Chicken fussin' with his hair and doing his 12 takes to get his reports right.

--Yes, car alarms!

--The guys who would get in their cars and drive round and round the traffic circle shooting their guns in the air...we called it a "parade".

--Achmed's "This Old Bunker" program.

--Oh my. There are soooooo many!

Pretty chicken also had to ask"what's going on" to his minders in Britain to get his broadcast together.He never peeked out a window to learn the news in Baghdad.!

Baghdad Bob was great;a natural born comedian and he didn't even know it.. :-)

I remember watching Arnot's "shock and awe" segment at work. Gret big explosions!

I'm still in shock and awe at what our troops have accomplished in such a short time. They have served our country both honorably and courageously. I salute them. I am profoundly grateful to have witnessed it and lived at this historic time. I am thankful to have shared the experience w/all of you.

I was calling Robert Fisk Baghdad Bob, but it didn't catch on. He was the parallel to Axis Sally and Tokyo Rose, but did anybody listen to me? Noooooooooooo....

I do remember the day our boys got to downtown Baghdad, and somebody told a soldier that Baghdad Bob (the Iraqi Information Minister) was saying they weren't there, and the soldier nonchalantly said, "Yeah? Well, we can go over and talk to him."

Our CIC and the troops have been amazing! May GOD keep and watch over all.

One of THE best parts of FR, is all of us together, living through history and talking with each other.

One year BUMP! Couldn't believe it when I heard it on the radio this morning. A year. Seems like only a few months ago. I'm getting old.
