Troop Prayer Thread 10 - A Year of VICTORY!

THREE CHEERS FOR OUR WONDERFUL TROOPS, THEIR ALLIES, AND ALL WHO ARE SERVING IN SUPPORT CAPACITIES IN THE WAR ON TERROR! YOU HAVE GIVEN THIS NATION A YEAR OF VICTORY IN THAT WAR! The honor is yours, but know that we bask in your accomplishments and love you for your steadfast service on this day!

Welcome, everyone to the 10th Troop Prayer Thread! Today is the anniversary of the resumption of hostilities with Iraq, wherein our troops have made military history that shall ring down the centuries.

The troop prayer threads are dedicated to giving our troops, allies, and all who are serving the Holy Cause of Freedom, including (but not limited to) the families and loved ones waiting at home and those who are not in uniform but who are serving in dangerous situations supporting our troops and gathering intelligence spiritual support. We seek together to offer prayer, scriptures, encouraging messages, and other devotions dedicated to this purpose.

We have over the past year gathered together a prayer list of these servants of freedom. You will find it posted below. FReeper amom has been serving as our List Keeper this past year and I wish to thank and commend her for doing such a meticulous job of keeping it updated. She has also been keeping our ping list up to date. If you wish to submit a name for the prayer list or to add or take off a name from the ping list, please let either or both of us know.

For those of us who have somewhat limited computer capacity, or still have phone modems, we request that graphics be limited to pictures of loved ones for whom we are offering prayers, special visuals that seem particularly appropriate, and as much as possible, non-moving graphics. Thank you.

Thank you so much for spiritually supporting our troops, allies, support civilians, and their families.

We are grateful to God that for those who have been injured or taken back Home, He has dispatched angels to their care.

PRAYER WARRIOR FIELD TRIP and PRAYER REQUEST!!!

One of our fellow Prayer Warriors, Jaded, has brought to our attention the web site dedicated to following the progress of LCpl Casey Owens who had to have a foot amputated. He is recovering in National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He had some severe complications shortly after he was injured, with his body forming blood clots. This resulted in a lowered oxygen content in his blood, so he had to be bagged in order to safeguard his brain.

Jaded is among his network of family friends. His family has requested that he be placed on as many prayer lists as possible, and Jaded has requested that he be placed on ours. [*ALERT TO AMOM, OUR LIST KEEPER!!*] It is our honor to include him today.

Jaded states, "If you could ping people and add this Brave Soldier and his family to your prayers lists I would be most grateful. Also pray for Casey's young friends, many of them see this as a reason to support Kerry and not our troops. "

Jaded, please extend to Casey's family that we are indeed including him on our list and are offering prayers for his recovery. Let them know that many of us out here do care and are pulling for him.

Merciful Father,

We come to you now, our Father, with full hearts for LCpl Casey Owens and his family. We first of all thank you for sparing his life. We are grateful that you have seen fit to allow him to remain with us for a while longer; that it appears you have more for him to do in your service.

We ask that you will assign a team of healing angels to assist him during this difficult time of recovery and adjustment to the major changes he is now experiencing. Father, we ask that you will hold him in your arms and allow your Presence to be tangible to him. Assure and guide him during the grieving process which he must go through because of the loss of his foot.

Reach into those nerves and cells and let maximum healing occur. Make it so that the tissues align in such a way as to allow for prosthesis attachment with minimal discomfort and maximum efficiency.

Please continue to guide and overshadow the doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and any other medical professionals working on his case.

Comfort him, Father, and heal his heart, mind, and soul as well as his body. Help his family and loved ones be able to give him the exact support and understanding he needs at any given time. Help this young man move through this healing process with his Faith not only intact, but strengthened.

We have heard that some among his friends are not seeing the big picture of the significance of his selfless sacrifice, and are using this in their minds to become anti-war. Father, we ask that you will intercede and enlighten them and all our fellow citizens who may be falling into this easy trap. Help them to awaken to the understanding that if our troops were not fighting the terrorists abroad, those evil ones would be right here in our cities lobbing their bombs at our malls, bridges, gathering places, and yes, our schools. SHATTER that misguided rhetoric that leaving the terrorists alone will somehow make them leave us alone! Father, we dont understand how those evil ones who wish to kill us have become so filled with hate, but we ask that you will intercede into the very cause and core behind that hatred and dissolve it as though it were with a ruby lasar light with your focused divine Love.

Father, we ask that you will guide our nation in these days leading up to the elections. Enter in and take command of the races of all your choice candidates and issues. Father, let our nation prevail in electing the President, Senators, Representatives, and other offices which are closest in alignment with your Vision for this nation. Enter into State and local races. Guide the people in their selection of their State and local officials and help them decide properly how their State Questions and other ballot inititives will be decided.

We ask that you will surround our troops who are engaging the Enemy abroad. Protect them. The intensity of the viciousness of the terrorists has increased because of the elections being prepared in Afghanistan and Iraq. Father, we have seen in the history of the world how rare a place America is, the beacon of the Flame of Freedom. That torch is about to be passed to two nations who have never had the opportunity to wield it. Father, protect our magnificent troops in their efforts to protect this nation by passing that delicate and vulnerable torch to these two nations of the Middle East. When it burns brightly it is so powerful, nothing can stand against it, but as with any infant, until it grows in stature, it can be quashed in a moment of inattention. Let our nation not take its attention away from what we are trying, with our soldiers' blood to achieve! Father, let that torch of Freedom become as a mighty roaring bonfire! Let it take root in the hearts of all your children! Let all cry out not only in the most secret chambers of their hearts, but in fact with their loudest voices, "GIVE ME FREEDOM!" Father, grant that dearest wish.

We ask that all which we have called forth for Casey, we call forth for any other young hero who has been wounded and is facing a lengthy rehabilitation process. We love all our troops, and we do remember and pray for them all. Comfort the families of those whom you have chosen to call Home.

Thank you, our Father, for being the Invincible All Powerful King, and our own caring approachable heavenly Parent. Let all be done according to thy Will, for thy Will is always Good, despite our impaired perspective from which we sometimes suffer. We affirm and request that you will be our Sword and Buckler, for 'the earth is the Lord's and the Fullness thereof.'

Prayer: We pray in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We come before our Heavenly Father and we ask You Heavenly Father that You will send the Holy Spirit now for Jesus Christ's sake into our midst to manifest Yourself, Your glory, Your power, Your healing and everything you want to do. And we are asking Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ that You send the Holy Spirit powerfully now for Jesus Christ's sake and we are asking You Father to send the Holy Spirit more powerfully now for Jesus Christ's sake. And this is the cry of our hearts and we ask You to send the Holy Spirit still more powerfully now for Jesus Christ's sake. That You, God, will begin to settle questions in the earth. That you would draw a great line out to those people who are seeking God so that they will know there is One clear, true God they can come after. Manifest Your presence upon us and through us. We call out to You for that, God. We are praying to You and believing that You are going to fulfill this in an increased measure for Jesus Christ's sake. For Jesus Christ may the Holy Ghost come with greater power. For Jesus Christ's sake that His Name would be lifted up, that His Person would be lifted up. We are asking that and there is no question that as the Holy Spirit comes with more power every man, woman and child within shouting distance of His presence would be touched. We thank You, Lord.
