There was no Pope in the time. You're forgetting your history aren't you.

There were Popes right from St. Peter -- check the Papal list, bishops of Rome right from 40 AD. THe Organisation was also mostly there by the time of Domitian who feared that they were getting too well organised and might be a challenge to the govt of Rome.

You're also forgetting that there was no organization calling itself catholic officially until Theodosius.

The term 'catholic' came as a result of the Reformation.

No, there weren't "Popes". The office didn't even exist in the time of the Apostles. If you check your history, you'll find the office wasn't even defined till the last half of the first millenium. Presidents of the United states didn't exist pre-George Washington. Learn some History. And which Papal list do you wish to quote from? I have 12 and no two alike. The early popes are an interpolation because the office didn't exist. And it's not an unbroken line. The deed itself is a lying facade created to impute authority based on cursory look. And as I said, "Catholic" as an official term didn't come till Theodosius. Even that is unimportant other than to show the ongoing lies that pile up to defraud people with a look of genuineness in origin in place of genuineness of the Gospel. If all the lies and deceptions were turned true by some magic and yet your Gospel remained a different Gospel than that taught by the Apostles, you'd still be wrong. And that is the point. Your message AND your fruits judge you.

Christ didn't come saying - LOOK, people have believed my message for 2000 years. He didn't come saying "I have 1.6 billion people following me, it must be true." NO. He said narrow and long is the path and few that enter in. And he said "IT IS WRITTEN". Your message cannot convince Christians. And because of that you have to spend forever and a day taughting history and appearances intended to make you look Christian. Christ gave the message, it bore witness and BANG - done.

I'm not a protestant. I'm not an "anti-catholic" or an "anti-mormon", etc. I'm anti catholic DOCTRINE, anti mormon DOCTRINE, anti watchtower DOCTRINE because I'm a child of God with the truth in me and the Holy Spirit bearing witness to that truth. I don't give a hoot what sign is over your door if you preach an unperverted Gospel.
Your church does not. I really like seeing your tenacity whilest thinking yourself Christian. I'd like to see that tenacity applied to the ACTUAL Gospel message so that you'll get the benefit you deserve. I'm sorry you've been defrauded; but, I won't apologize for stating the truth.
