Commercial airliners, once small bodies of advance troops have secured an airfield or two.

Taiwan is a heavily fortified island, even if the PRC could get enough troops across the strait (which they can't), they couldn't maintain supply lines to supply them.

The trick is to fly dozens of aircraft in quickly. Many will be shot down and once landed casualties among the troops would be high, but since when have the Chicoms cared about that?
