March 18 (Bloomberg) -- Ontario, which produces almost half of Canada's gross domestic product, must use more nuclear power to avoid turning to imports for a quarter of its energy in the next three years, said a report commissioned by the government.

Sometimes the smaller corporation has a better idea. Wouldn't be the first time Canada was a technology leader.

Ya gotta admit, it IS a bit of a no-brainer...
Stop and think about it: if Canada has to import electricity, where the heck are they gonna import it from?
Certainly not from US, for cryin' out loud.
Sheeeeesh. We can barely generate enough to satisfy our own needs!

Ontario is inter-tied with NY & MI, electrical current flows both ways in those areas...

Just what Canada needs another nuke reactor upwind of 50 million people, with no one willing ar able to keep it safe.
Maybe we could get some of those 75 undocumented Afgan "refugees" who arrived a year or two ago to run things

Fear should be proportional to danger. Safety at Canadian, French, American, et. al., style nuclear power plants is measured with one-in-ten-thousand-per-year numbers. Where is your concern for the more than 30,000 American lives that will be blithely condemned to death this year and every year in accidents associated with automobile crashes? Only the logic of Dr. Kevorkian would rave hysterically about postulated radiation events while at the same time saying that it is alright to choose to drive and die. Note that most of the auto-accident victims did not choose to be at the wrong place, at the wrong time. Those 50 million people you claim to worry about have more to fear from a trip to the dental x-ray (particularly the driving part).
