[history]
Excerpts from Vice President Dick Cheney's speech yesterday at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
Sen. Kerry's record on national security raises some important questions. Let's begin with the matter of how Iraq and Saddam Hussein should have been dealt with.

Sen. Kerry said, "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it." Huh? Gimme that again.
Topsy-turvy Kerry wants to have it both ways.

He now says he was voting only to "threaten the use of force," not actually to use force. He's lying through his teeth, of course, but imagine if he was telling the truth:
He wants America to "threaten the use of force" if necessary, but if the threats don't work, then back down.
Appeasement, thy name is Kerry...

That is NOT Clinton ease.
Clinton would have talked about how much he cared, etc.
He never would have been as stupid as that.

I've often wished that Bush's speeches were as eloquent as Cheney's. Maybe it's just Cheney's tempo and demeanor.
Then I think about it a little more and think how perfect the union: Bush, a cowboy type that says what he means, and means what he says, has a hair-trigger aura about him that brings to mind a gunslinger toting a .44 just waiting for the bad guy to flinch before wasting him, and the character and humility of my father. Then Cheney, a fatherly, well educated, articulate, no bs guy that oozes confidence and reassurance. He's the perfect partner.
These two really help me sleep at night. I hate to say it but regarding Kerry, I'd rather have Clinton back than Kerry in the White House. Scary stuff. For all his many faults, at least Clinton seemed to know when to back off when he got so liberal that the people were turning against him. Kerry, I don't think , would care a whit.

Thanks, Dick! Great to finally hear from
somebody who knows what the heck he is
talking about!

Seem to remember Clinton saying he wouldn't raise our taxes and then saying that he did, indeed, raise our taxes...Kerry and Clinton sound alike to me.

He wants America to "threaten the use of force" if necessary, but if the threats don't work, then back down. Clinton used this strategy many times. It worked the first couple of times. But after Somalia, nobody took him seriously.
Kerry wants to do that same. We can't afford another saber rattler with no guts.

Clintonese is spoken by Democrats, Socialists and Terrorists.
The distinctive accent comes from the stinky thing stuck in the mouth while spouting it.
