I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this. But since I have noticed exactly this kind of junk lately, I thought people here should know about it.

If you think preparation H is erotic.

"Use your persona to ask how you as a Christian can reconcile hating gays with eating shrimp, per Leviticus."

Luckily, this is not a problem I will have should I choose to return to the Church. I hate shrimp.

OK, folks, I have a confession to make.

I'm one of those trolls.

I'm really a far right wing conservative. I have only been masquerading as a plain old right wing conservative.

I figured I would just hang out here until closer to the election and then reveal my secret identity.

Just do what I do: if you profess to be a Christian and support homosexuality, you're automatically dimissed since, clearly, you don't actually read the Bible.

Problem solved.

in order to pose as Christians, with the purpose of promoting homosexuality

Rest easy, Freepers can sniff out these disruptors from a mile away.

"Use your persona to ask how you as a Christian can reconcile hating gays with eating shrimp, per Leviticus."

OK, time for some basic theology 101. What is being alluded to here is that in the Pentateuch(first five books of Old Testament), homosexuality is a capital crime, but the eating of things like shrimp was also forbidden. This is supposed to "stump" a Christian who, rightfully, holds a disdain for homosexuality, but still eat things forbidden.

This was dealt with a very long time ago by theologians - long before "homosexual rights" were ever an issue. The Pentateuch (AKA "Law of Moses") can be thought of being three parts.

The first part is the ceremonial law - how to sacrifice animals, give offerings, clean and unclean things, etc. These are things that set the Hebrews apart from other nations. Well, the ceremonial law ended with Christ. By Christian theology, Christ forever ended that by his death of the cross. The prohibition of eating "shrimp" would be part of the ceremonial law.

The second part would be the judicial or civil law. These are things dealings with property law, punishments for certain crimes, etc. It is the same as the governmental and civil laws of this land. Christian theologians have long recognized that, although it is a good model to follow, the civil/judicial law of ancient Israel was specific and binding only on that nation. In essence, it is not in effect any more. A great deal of our law is based upon it though.

Thirdly, there is the Moral Law, which is summarized in the Ten Commandments. The Moral Law is still considered binding on all, as a judge on right and wrong. The commandment that is quoted as "Thou shall not commit adultery" is better translated/stated as "Do not engage in sexual immorality." Adultery is just one type, homosexuality is another. Other parts of these five books go into more detail about the many varieties of sexual immorality - incest, bestiality, fornication, etc.

I remember recently noticing that someone on FR seemed to be more like a caricature of a conservative Christian she claimed to be, than a real one. I suspected a troll, I bet I am right -- what you posted, confirms it.

I don't remember her screen name, so I can't check her recent messages.

Others seemed to have accepted her as genuine, and I wasn't interested enough to follow her post, beyond the first few I happened to see.

Nah, you get them to like you and know you, and then you start injecting some common sense here and there, like how you just cannot support government intrusiveness into the bedroom, and how it's just Democrat-like "Big Government" to think the government should solve all the social problems, and to just let the market decide, and that no churches would ever or should ever be compelled to perform gay marriages, but that you believe in freedom of religion in this country as a founding principle, so people should be able to choose to burn in hell or not, and that Bush shouldn't be forcing that choice on them. Stuff like that. I'm sure you can figure out a way to slowly, subtly get some stuff in there. Lots of good fodder in the whole budget big-government thing too.

Those bloody fools have such a narrow view of Republicans in general -- and FReepers in particular -- that they don't realize that there already are some non-trolls, who already believe that... like me for example.

And before anyone suggests I am a troll, if I am, I'm doing well to have kept it up since November 2000.

Of course, there are some conservatives who've given the subject some thought and happen to disagree with your views on the topic. They (should I say, I) are not trolls or disruptors. It is fairly disturbing to see how some people here excoriate gays with such vitriole. It may be useful some time to step back and take an objective look. Sure looks pretty ugly.

easy... just string them along for a few months, then let loose and tell them how you REALLY feel! Of course you'll be banned immediately, but with any luck you'll create so much mistrust among them that the board will fall apart. Good luck!

The scope of this plan is almost too much to handle. We're doomed!

I've never done it but stumbled across a conservative board and created a character of a right-wing intolerant born-again Christian zealot.

Reminds me of CajunPrince from long ago.

...like how you just cannot support government intrusiveness into the bedroom...

If these faggots would keep it in the bedroom...no one here on this forum would likely have a problem with these fudge-packing deviants.

But that's NOT what they are about. And they know it.
