Will COMIX Help Re-Elect Bush? (A Proposal)

Last Sunday I was hanging out at the massive Calle Ocho parade in Miami with a bunch of hot Latin chix. I bet you would love to hear about my exploits with the latter but I have to file that part under "PRIVATE." However, whilst allowing my Latina female fans bask in the glow of my charisma, I noticed an older couple walking around and handing out "VIVA BUSH" stickers. Muy Bien I thought. A good idea to do something like this at a very popular festival. However, I noticed that the young folks paid no attention to this and only older Cubans ended up wearing those "VIVA BUSH" stickers.
Later, towards the end of the festival, I noticed a whole bunch of familiar looking comic tracts on the street. A closer look and it turned out to be Spanish language versions of the famous Jack Chick tracts. I broke away from the embrazos of the Latina chicks and gathered up the Chick Tracts from the street for later reading.
Okay, earlier this morning everything seemed to gel. What is really needed in this election campaign is something beyond the usual campaign material. I therefore propose funny comix stories done with great artistic style about the election campaign. I believe such material would attract the attention of younger people.
As many of you know, I sort of had to retire my PJ-Comix stories due to the crash of ad revenues back in 2000. However, if some organization out there wants to finance such an endeavor again, I can offer my writing services free. Only the cartoonists would have to be paid (modest payments). I recommend that such comix stories be published both online and in paper tract form similar to Chick tracts. I can guarantee that younger folks would read these comix especially if done with great artistic style and humorously.
Please Freep mail me if you know of any organization that would underwrite such an effort. I believe that there are MANY young people votes out there that can be attracted via such an effort. And don't forget---only 537 Florida votes separated us from an absolute NIGHTMARE. Leave NO stone unturned in the coming campaign.

If I can get support for such an effort, I would use as cartoonists Bob Lizarraga and Brian Chin as I have done before. Both are EXCELLENT cartoonists. I honestly believe that many folks would keep campaign comix tracts as collectors items due to the great artwork of both of these cartoonists. Here is an example of Bob Lizarraga's art:

Sorry P.J., but that's not cutting it. I don't need a play by play, but photos are required to substantiate this... who'm I kidding, I don't care if you're in them, but how about a Google search or something for some photos. Mrs. Eagle doesn't approve of me doing such things.

My mind is BURSTING with comix ideas about John F. Kerry. One of them would be a comix story about
The Amazing Two-Faced Candidate. It would sort of be a parody of
The Amazing Two-Headed Man starring Ray Milland and Rosey Grier. Remember that campy horror flick? Anyway, it would be both FUNNY and demonstrate what a fraud Kerry is because he takes two sides on many issues. Most young folks have little idea what Kerry is about but I would love to help define the REAL Kerry via the comix. I would also recommend paper tracts since many people would keep (and read) them as collectibles. It is definitely a level up from the regular campaign literature that few pay attention to.
Again, remember those few 537 Florida votes that separated us from the Gore presidency NIGHTMARE.

Meanwhile, keep up the good work, PJ. And make sure those young Latinos get Viva Bush signs.

There is no alternative to the reelection of President Bush. In other words "One Nation, under God." Or a revolutionunder Kerry! I correspond with "friends" every day on this issue. There is now a national sense of tenseness that could easily go beyond the pale. This would easily develop into a war of religion, of political stance, economic status, and race hatred. Unless, common sense takes over, bullets may. I don't see Kerry doing another Clinton without physical resistance. Unfortunately, I could for-see the same if Bush becomes President. Lord, I hope I'm wrong!!

OK, but I would like to see them get Spanish language comix stories about Kerry. The only ones I saw at Calle Ocho wearing the Viva Bush stickers were older Cubans. More folks need to be reached. I think comix stories (English and Spanish) are just the ticket.

I can't draw for squat, but if you need any wordsmithing or proofing, drop me a line. All technical angles are already covered. I just need some group or organization that can host the comix on the web (little expense), pay the cartoonists (little expense), and print up paper comix tracts (physically similar to Chick Tracts) to hand out to people. Unlike most campaign material, I guarantee that such comix stories would be READ. And, remember, most young voters have little idea of who John Kerry even is. I mentioned something about Kerry to a friend of mine recently and she told me she never even heard of him. I want to reach out to folks who have little or no idea of who Kerry is.

How about this for a kerry campaign slogan specifically tailored for the cuban community:
Kerry - El Culisimo!
To native speakers of both languages, that woiuld get a chuckle...

Hey, you're stepping out on the Radcliffe Chicks. Watch your back, brother.
Actually, PJ, I think you have a brilliant idea. I've been bothered by the mediocre Bush communications efforts from early in the campaign, the last campaign. You can't do the same old stuff, especially, when the mass media is not going to even report with the appearance of fairness. The media is part of the Democrat Party.
I think Bush should emulate Perot and buy a half hour or and hour and explain his tax cut policies. Do the same on the War on Terror and a couple more. Perot did, I recall, 4 programs. He got huge audiences. Perot didn't do these political rallies and hope the news picks up a sound bite.
Going after the youth is also a great idea, because the liberals somehow believe they own the youth or ought to. A patriotic appeal to young people will certainly get a positive response. Bush and hope, versus Kerry and decline.

PJ, For something like $495, you can publish your own book with iUniverse, and sell the book on Amazon and Barnes and Nobles web sites. I think it's worth it. Check it out
HERE. . And, I agree with you: comics are a great way to reach the younger voters. If you first publish via iUniverse, it is possible -- possible -- a publisher will then want to pick up your book.

Actually, it's
$459 - and includes an ISBN number for the book. I know someone whose book is now available for purchase on Amazon because he published with iUniverse.
