"Fresh Ubited Nations mandate on Iraq, answering a major demand"...DEMAND?..."of the new Spanish leader, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero"...Chamberlain.
So instead of standing up to terorists and their new appeaser by telling him off and sending his troops home early, we are going to suck up to him and go begging at the UN again? I smell the State Department in this again.

Don't change the title. This is not the title of the article. The title is "US Turns on Spain."

Giving "hints" that Washington "might consider" a new UN resolution, and saying that it's something that "certainly would be looked at" is hardly appeasement, unless we define appeasement as pretending we'll take a look at the matter.

This situation is an excellent example of what is wrong with Kerry's voiced policies on handling the WoT and foreign affairs.
If we turn over our sovereignty in fighting this war to the UN, we never know when it or its member nations would cut and run.
Spain's new government has already announced they are pulling out of Iraq.
The UN already pulled out its officials (non-military) from Iraq months ago.
If we put our 'faith' in the UN to protect us, the biggest target of international terrorism, what guarantees do we have that the UN forces would be pulled out.
The more events unfold with the bombing in Madrid, socialists gaining control in Spain, bombing in Iraq, the more scarey and dangerous a John Kerry presidency could be. BJ Clinton did plenty to weaken the US. Another socializing, appeasing, placating, non-engaged President in the War on Terrorism is the one thing we don't need right now.

( Kerry has imaginary friends. Carter was attacked by a killer rabbit. Dems can be fun to watch.)

This is not new. The US has already asked the UN to become involved on June 30th. when we turn over the control of the counry to the Iraqi governing body.
