"More Than $2 Trillion!!"
(To be sung to Boston's "More Than a Feeling")
The LeftWing's in mourning 'cuz SlickWillie's gone...
RATS have no future...with Jean Kerry!!
Right votes fer Strength, not like Spain Done Wrong...
Still, our liberties are stripped away-ay-ay-ay!!
The RightWing needs FReepin'...(more than $2 Trillion!!)
When we hear Big Guv'ment's been holdin' sway (more than $2 Trillion!!)
RightWing needs FReepers (almost $3 Trillion!!)
'Til we see Big Guv'ment melt away...
We'll see our Liberties fadin' away!!
So many FReepers have come and gone...
Their mem'ry fades as the years go by.
Yet I still recall list'nin' ta Limbaugh...
Each year when we vote, Fed budget's too hi-i-igh!!
The RightWing needs FReepin'...(more than $2 Trillion!!)
Folks, I've heard Dem ol' excuses still today (more than $2 Trillion!!)
RightWing needs FReepin' (almost $3 Trillion!!)
'Til we see Big Guv'ment melt away...
High time that Conservatives win the day!!
(Guitar jammin' interlude)
When I'm tired and feelin' old...
I think about Reagan, who saved the day!!
And dream of the men who used to know...
If we close our eyes, FReedom'll slip away!!
DemRATS must pay!! Right must hold sway!!
The LeftWing is reelin'!! (more than $2 Trillion!!)
Folks, we've heard RAT's ol' songs they always play... (more than $2 Trillion!!)
The RightWing needs FReepin'...(almost $3 Trillion!!)
'Till we see KerryMan slink away...
We Shan't Let Slick Willie Git Away !!

The sources you use fer news definitely have a major impact on yer perspective...I helped ween a co-worker off NPR and his outlook has been sooo much rosier as a result. That 87-year-old needs to check his sources and discard those that are too willing to spout the DemonRAT talking points.
As yer you, 'Dru, you've often given me good advice to not get too high or too low in watching these campaigns...there's a lot of twists and turns ahead of us between now and November...don't pop a blood vessel!!
FReegards...MUD
I'd say that'd qualify for "Understatement of the Week," wouldn't you? {g}
Did you hear Rush today talking about the people he ran into this past weekend?
Wealthy, well educated people?
Yea...
"I helped ween a co-worker off NPR and his outlook has been sooo much rosier as a result."
Good job, kid.
I do what I can when the opportunity presents itself, in my own way, also.
But hell, I'm no "diplomat" either so sitting [there] & explaining "Why there is air & the shy blue" is an infuriating excerise for someone like me, too.
BTW & FWIW, I agoligize for neglecting to *add* that this woman also told me -- after I'd got on her case :o) -- her Mom, Dad, her & her husband intended on voting for Bush, regardless.
But after making the kind of statement she did -- & how it was said -- I gotta wonder why or if maybe she wasn't scamming me.
I think it's clear this person -- & millions just like 'em -- really aren't plugged into what's really going on out there; which, we aready know full well is *precisely* what the ponytailed Liberal-Socialist quisling SOBs at these assinine networks pray on.
Frankly, there're times I suffer "fools" much better than others & she caught me at a really bad time.
"That 87-year-old needs to check his sources and discard those that are too willing to spout the DemonRAT talking points."
First off, I'm not about to travel 9 hours east to WVA, to tell a (now retired) lawyer whose practiced law since God was a Private, what & where he can get "accurate information," Mud.
The guy's like so many others who've [passively] abdicated their RESPONSIBILTIES as citizens of our great Republic to relative strangers who they blindly trust will completely tell 'em what's really going on so they *can* make an informed decision.
Most people I've met pride themselves on making fair & just choices, as long as the data they're processing toward the eventual outcome is *accurate*?
The reality of the situation for far too many people are that they're adamnet their news sources, be it print or television, would never lie to them & I know that's not new, too.
But dammit if it doesn't gall me to no tomorrow, nonetheless.
I mean the youngsters are blistfully ignorant & happy to remain as they are comfortable in their dumbed-down euphoric state buttressed by Ritalin, Crank, Pot & whateverinthehell their drug of choice is, granted.
But to old timers [read: mature adults] the mere thought the mediots would and/or are lieing to 'em is actually thought by them to be, unAmerican.
There's just no more time for people to be that damned naive in my book, none.
"As yer you, 'Dru, you've often given me good advice to not get too high or too low in watching these campaigns...there's a lot of twists and turns ahead of us between now and November..."
Yea, I've tried & this thing's just getting going, too.
Truth is I've not even broken a [small] sweat, yet.
"...don't pop a blood vessel!!"
You don't "know" me as well as you think you know me if that's what you're thinking.
But thanks, just the same.
Not to worry, ain't gonna happen.
HA!
But I'd sure like to break a few necks.
...every now & then. {g}
"When it comes to defending what he sees as President Bushs correct stance in fighting the war on terror, Raoul Deming is about as proactive as one could be. In fact, he has attended nearly every rally on the East Coast in the past year, whether pro or con, and says hes always ready to confront those who speak out against the president or scoff at any displays of patriotism."
Way to go, Doc, yer an inspiration to us all...MUD
"Saudi Arabia has launched an undeclared war on George W. Bush. This simple fact must be understood by policy and strategy elites, the press, and the general electorate. Otherwise, the Saudis may well succeed in their tacit campaign to sabotage the long term success of Americas war on terror, by engineering the electoral defeat of George W. Bush in November."
Not a good thing...MUD
Thanks fer the info, my FRiend...MUD
"Sen. KERRY: I think we should do everything possible to move multilaterally and to do it with certainty in a way that--that will pass muster, if you will, internationally. But we should not be hampered in our ability to defend ourselves, and we should proceed unilaterally, if in the end that is the only way we can protect the national security interests of the country."

I noticed MTV is promoting a 20 Million Voter drive in which they want to increase the Youth vote. Yesterday, they had a "reporter" riding along with Kerry on his campaign plane and interviewed a bunch of ABB's ("Anybody But Bush")...these kids are exactly the sorta quislings you reference. Most of these folks are probably unreachable before next November, but I believe we have the votes to overcome their ill-conceived opinions.

Me, too...my younger brothers hang out with a lotta younger folks who span the spectrum of political thought, so it's interesting when we get together to talk politics. They are surprised to find that I'm not squarely in Bush's camp this time, and I believe it opens their minds to my entreaties about the dangers of allowing Kerry to become Commander-in-Chief. I may not be turning them into Bushbots, but there is some movement towards an "Anybody But Kerry" mentality.

I was just kidding you about letting yer blood come to a boil, but I have no doubt that you could break those necks if push came to shove...LOL!!

Plenty of *more* useful idiots to be had, my friend.

God I hope you're right, Mud.
And that's as *optimistic* as I can possibly be, too.

Interstesting to you, but at my advanced age we're talking seizure! {g}

And that's probably the best reason someone like me should shaddap, too. ;^)
You're doing good Mud, you *speak* their language in ways they'll listen.

"I was just kidding you about letting yer blood come to a boil, but I have no doubt that you could break those necks if push came to shove...LOL!!"
I know you were yankin' my chain; but, I had to play to the room, too.
That's what *hams* do, right? {that's for *you*, Elizabeth}
But you're right about the necks.
...like dry twigs. :o)
What the heck are some good FReepers thinking?!
SHEEESH...MUD
Ummmmmm.
...*justice*?

"Following a thorough review of the University of Virginias mens basketball program, Athletics Director Craig K. Littlepage said today that he had concluded that Pete Gillen is the right person to lead the program and that Gillen has his full support, as well as the support of University President John T. Casteen III."
Mixed feelings...MUD
Yup.
You got it.
"...not Justice!!"
Now *that* part's your opinion, young man.
"Justice will be turning the Guilty into a pink mist, while minimizing the loss of innocent life."
Uh-huh, OKaaaaaa.
*Niether* of us will be "in the loop" on what's to eventually happen -- if anything -- so whadda ya say we just relax, watch, & see what they do.
...how's that.
Will do, mi amigo...guess I just got caught up in that thread where I was gittin' called a pacifist fer not wanting to wantonly kill innocent women and children...LOL!!
FReegards...MUD
Of course you'll do [it], what else you (& I) gonna do?
"...guess I just got caught up in that thread where I was gittin' called a pacifist fer not wanting to wantonly kill innocent women and children...LOL!!"
Conflicting messages, the smarmy "kill innocent yadayadayada" & a "LOL," y'know?
And a fair argument could be made you are in fact, a "pacifist."
Not that there's anything necessarily wrong with pacifists mind you, we are what we are, after all.
War is *hell*.
War's dirty, ugly, there's much pain from war & not all of that pain gets administered to those who deserve it, either.
War if executed properly is barbaric bringing about peace, quickly.
Anyone whose been through war never wants to see it again, & that's the key.
Those who haven't been subjected to war seem intoxicated by the prospect of war.
The filthy bastards -- and the "innocents" who've aided & abedded the filthy bastards -- who murdered those civilians are just such people who're the product of just such peoples.
In the end when all's been said & done, it's either war or *no* war & ya can't have it both ways, Mud.
You seem to desire *sterilizing* war, somehow.
I don't get that POV, & I never will.
...nor do I think I'd want to.
"...during the last year of the Clinton administration, while the recession was progressing, unemployment increased from 4.0 percent (January, 2000) to 4.2 percent (January, 2001), for a loss of 300,000 jobs. The recession deepened seriously in 2001, exacerbated by the terrorist attack on 9/11. By January, 2002, unemployment increased by 2.4 million to 5.6 percent, while employment stood at 136 million. Now, to blame this on the Bush administration, which had not had time to implement significant economy-boosting policies (from January through August, 2001), is as ludicrous as crediting the Clinton administration with the recovery that was in progress when Bill Clinton took office."
