The Green Party is way beyond socialist, and in answer to your question, I don't think many Greenies have really bothered to read their own platforms. Their eyes glaze over after they get past "free stuff" and "green grass".

Green is Socialist? No way.

The best way to keep in mind what Greens are is to think of them as Watermelons. Green on the outside, red on the inside. They are nothing more than a Communist front party, useful to them because it shares the same hyper-anti-capitalist agenda.
