Soviet Union created Islamism and Osama Bin LAden? I don't think so. I always thought it was Saudies and CIA. Whach both doesn't deny.

This article carries so many factual lapses that I tired to count them.
Just few.

Victor Bout was born in 1967, probably in Smolensk. He has used also the names Viktor Bulakin and Vadim Aminov. He carries five passports: two Russians, one Ukrainian, and probably one Tajik and one Uzbek. (Guardian 23.12.00) He served as navigator in the Soviet air force, and graduated from the Military Institute for Foreign Languages in Moscow. By 1991, Bout had a career in the KGB, assisted by his father-in-law, who was no lesser a character than the Brezhnev family member Tsvigun. (Guardian 23.12.00) ==

Tsvigun was dead long before 1991. He suicided somewhere near 1982 or so. He wasn't family member of Brezhnev. He was deputy of KGB chief Andropov so.

In 1991 KGB was dissolved accually. So Bout or who ever cann't serve in it.

Bout’s partners were Soviet-trained air force generals of the Taliban. ==

Interesting. I thought that Taliban accually executed all soviet trained afgans including Nadzhibulla who was former president under soviet control.

Russian disinformation labeled the Taliban a client of Pakistan, although some observers had noticed already by 1997, ==

Funny:). It means that american goverment urged Pakistan to drop thier support to Taliban in 2001 under influence of "russian propaganda":)).

Not only have they failed to investigate the September 1999 bombings, which were pinned collectively on Chechens, but were actually committed by the FSB, ==

"Commited by FSB". That is it. I stop to comment here. Nothing left to comment.
FSb already cought few perpetrators of those explotions. They was sentenced to life in prison. But someone still repeats stupid lie.

Terror Close to Home In Venezuela - "Venezuela is providing support--including identity documents--that could prove useful to radical Islamic groups, say U.S. officials. U.S. News has learned that Chavez's government has issued thousands of cedulas, the equivalent of Social Security cards, to people from places such as Cuba, Colombia, and Middle Eastern nations that play host to foreign terrorist organizations. An American official with firsthand knowledge of the ID scheme has seen computer spreadsheets with names of people organized by nationality. "The list easily totaled several thousand," the official says. "Colombians were the largest group; there were more than a thousand of them. It also included many from Middle Eastern `countries of interest' like Syria, Egypt, Pakistan, Lebanon." The official adds: "It was shocking to see how extensive the list was." U.S. officials believe that the Venezuelan government is issuing the documents to people who should not be getting them and that some of these cedulas were subsequently used to obtain Venezuelan passports and even American visas, which could allow the holder to elude immigration checks and enter the United States."

Lula’s tour of dictatorships - “South America should look to the Arab world”

Iran and Cuba bolster ties, strengthen anti-US solidarity - "Iran and Cuba, in cooperation with each other, can bring America to its knees."

AMERICA WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THE BLEEDING

The LORD has never allowed a society to promote homosexuality or abortion without bringing His judgment - ours is no different: America is even now under the judgment of the LORD. America will not be able to stop the bleeding; foreign armies will occupy this land. "Behold, they are already among you, and you see them not." America has refused the LORD’S grace, now she must accept His judgment:

1. Innocent blood was spilled on the land; the land is now defiled.
2. The blood of over 40 million babies has been shed in this land.
3. The sin has reached unto the throne of the Holy One.
4. Judgment is now upon the land; it will tarry no longer.
5. The blood of the offender has to be appeased.
6. America constantly rejects the LORD’S grace. Therefore,
America will now have to accept His judgment !!!

Trinidad and Tobago - Terrorists Develop Island Operations - "In 1990 the Trinidad-based Muslim group Jamaat al-Muslimeen bombed police headquarters, attacked the parliament, shot and wounded the prime minister and held hostage members of his Cabinet in an effort to overthrow the government. According to press accounts, 24 people were killed and hundreds wounded during the attempted coup that lasted six days. Jamaat al-Muslimeen leader Yasin Abu Bakr, who led the failed coup, was convicted and jailed along with other group members, but in 1992 they were released from prison on a legal technicality."

The Pro-Terror Internacional: The latest ‘useful idiot’ to serve the cause of the FARC is none other than John Kerry, the presidential hopeful who also happens to sit on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Answering a question about U.S. drug policy following a recent speech in Boston, he claimed that the Marxist insurgents have "legitimate complaints," echoing the moral equivalence set forth by FARC apologists and reflecting a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation on the ground.

Printed out for an early a.m. reading. I think the author is right - there's got to be a state sponsor. Iraq was one, but it was not the only one.

Tailgunner, what do you think about the Spanish situation? Several people have mentioned that Zap is a Friend of Fidel ("FOF"). Is he a friend of Hugo, too? And what will this mean in the LatAm context?

CW, I haven't seen you on - what do you think about the above question?

right... ok...
hope the Lord don't mind too bad when I blow as many of his locusts away as I can before bowing down in submission to his will.

It is remarkable to think that years after none other than Yasir Arafat was identified as an agent of the KGB, run through the East Germans, that the link between Ba'ath, "Arab Nationalism," and the "Comintern" comes to notice ... again...and again. Why cannot Western Journalists pick up on this. They can't all be commie bastards and illiterate besides!

The other aspect of this valuable post that strikes me is that the identification of the players is still baffling to Western Intel. The Arabic trait of combination inside names, of tribes, of paternity, geography, Muhammed-like traits, and lineage is still throwing us in the West for a loss.

The guys they are talking about are completely interchangeable. There's no Arabic Who's Who, because no one know's who's who!
