Yep. I thought the majority of the country understood September 11th. If Mel Gibson is able to sow the seeds of doubt and betrayal in enough minds we are not that far from the Spanish outcome. I'm am aghast at the betrayal.
I wouldn't exactly call it betrayal. I would call it stupidity on Mel Gibson's part.
I just saw his movie and loved it, but if he is so dumb as to blame Bush for believing Saddam was a threat then he should stay out of politics.
Nearly all the world, the UN and even those country's opposed to an Iraq attack agreed with Bush on WMDs. Mel Gibson is way off track on this.
I really liked LOTR but Viggo Mortensen's foolish nonsense outside the film diminished his standing with me, but he is not an American. We were attacked on September 11th. We still don't know about the Anthrax. The public still does not know why Libya came out of the cold after spending so much money on nuclear materials. We are in a real war. It is unconscionable for any American to betray us at this time.
It is a betrayal. Bush is a patriot, honest, conscientous, an Evangelical Christian, antiabortion, pro death penalty, not a bigot in any way, shape, or form. It is a dangerous betrayal in a close election. We can only hope the millions who see the movie won't listen to Gibson. Otherwise we get Kerry and go the way of Spain.
