That's interesting. Do you have a link to this? (Not questioning your remembrance, but only looking for details.)

Hey that's show business. One day your on the top of the heap, and the next day your on the bottom.

The majority of posts I have seen in this have not been putting Mel at the bottom of anything. If conservatives are honest, they'll realize that it is Bush who has been put on the bottom by this WMD screw up, and its constructive now to get into, rather than wait til November.

Mel has been listening too much to Danny Glover.

Jwalsh07: Kerberos, I am not buying what you are selling.

Kerberos: I am not selling anything.

King Black Robe: "And you want that better understanding so you can peddle your oppressive Marxism more effectively."

Kerberos: You're right,

peddle = sell Jwalsh07 was right too.

Tell me why the administration does not put those Iraqi commanders on TV for them to give their own story.

Its prohibited by the Geneva Conventions.

Get the scientists who worked on the stuff on camera for the world to see.

They were the ones deluding Hussein himself if one is to believe their comments. Question is, why haven't you heard their comments?

Please don't be naive.

I'm not.

Where are the damn WMD?

I don't know and that is the crux of the problem MoodyBlu, nobody knows. We know they had them, we don't know where they went.

One year later and we have no answers.

Oh well.

One stinking pile of the stuff, found in a spiderhole, will put this to rest.

Who is naive?

I believe Bush hasnt been explaining the WMD situation clearly enough and letting democrats "explain" it their way.

I agree with you 100%! Therein is the biggest problem -- not that the WMD question can't be answered, but that it isn't been adequately addressed.

With all humility, and no pride of authorship, the White House and the BC '04 campaign need to read my post #259. Maybe they're preparing the Mother of All Rebuttals on the WMD charge, but so far, the offense has been pretty weak.

Bush SHOULD get on tv, clearly explain that WMD was believed to be there by EVERYONE including Mr Kerry and the former administration.

With all due respect, however, let us remember that the Administration has not yet issued a final report on the hunt for WMDs (Kay's interim report back in October was the most recent official update).

Despite the opinion of you and many other FReepers, one thing has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

Ultimately, you're correct. But I have noticed that the Christian worldview is more welcomed, and predominantly held, among Republicans.

There is a very small group of idiots that would assume that.

if you are a Bush supporter, you're certainly not conservative

Beg your pardon?!...

This is a thread about Mel, and hopefully about WMDs, so I won't go nuclear on your supposition in this thread (there are already about a bizillion other threads where this is discussed).

Unfortunately for Mel, if he doesn't go with Bush, he will be going with a guy who basically mocks the Catholic faith with his stance on abortion.

If it is no surprise to learn that Sean Penn, outspoken leftist actor, is the son of Arthur Penn, an old time Commie movie director, it should be no surprise that Mel Gibson, traditionalist Catholic, reflects the views of his father, Hutton Gibson, associated with the "sedevacantist" faction of traditional Catholicism. His father was skeptical about the Vietnam War; he is skeptical about the Iraqi War. There is no evidence to indicate that Mel Gibson adheres to the "Zionist-Masonic" conspiracy theories or the denial of the extent of the Holocaust that Hutton Gibson holds. However, movies like "Conspiracy Theory" and "Signs" indicate that Mel Gibson is very familiar with conspiratism, even making jokes like having the Hess children wear tinfoil hats in a scene in "Signs."

Children are seldom carbon copies of their parents. Even Sean Penn is probably a less extreme leftist than was his father. OTOH, Jane Fonda's pro-Vietcong radicalism was well removed from Henry Fonda's New Deal era liberalism. Successive generations of Tafts in Ohio politics have grown increasingly liberal. The same likely holds for Mel Gibson vs. his father.

Brokaw and Imus were pushing the idea on the radio this morning that President Bush should APOLOGISE to America.

Brokaw should apologize to America for pretending to be an objective news man.
