LOL

Probably not since I am not selling anything.

He was born here and raised in Australia

"Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson was born January 3rd, 1956 to parents Hutton and Ann Gibson. While many may think that Gibson is originally Australian, he was in fact born in Peekskill, N.Y."

"The sixth of eleven children, a young Mel relocated to Sydney, Australia (Ann Gibson's place of birth) after his father, a railroad brakeman, suffered an on-the-job injury. Their move down under was also to avoid the elder Gibson boys from being drafted in the Vietnam war."

from AskMen.Com

He has a family histoy of being flakey on the military.
What they did was no different than lefties fleeing to Canada during Vietnam. They gave up their citizenship rather than do their duty.

Yes, I know Mel was only 12 and didn't have much choice, but he hasn't disavowed it either.

I intend to vote for George W. Bush because I feel that I can trust him. If I lent him $20 I know that he would pay me back.

Actually, he'd probably *not* pay you back, shake you down for $50 more & then use it to pay for a bunch of liberal programs.

Sean's allowed to put whatever he likes on his show. Now that Mel may have went against your world view you are wishing to tear down whoever may support him? Hannity is a business man, and radio is his business, as is his TV show. Viewers are needed, and sure, I'd hype too!

Disillusioned with GIBSON, not with any particular movie, like the Dixie Chick backlash. But, I think it's just Hannity hyping his tv and/or radio show. I just transcribed what he just said on the radio about Mel Gibson. I don't listen to Hannity a lot. I THINK I WILL TURN ON HIM TOO. (sarcasm tag).

Now, now, Kerberos. That is a Kerryesque statement.

We're all selling something or we wouldn't be here.

I was speaking for most people and the way they feel about the president. It's always about the economy my friend.

If you do not judge the president by the economy I believe you are the exception to the rule and/or naive.

You make more of it than it was. I suppose that is for your own purposes of conscience or whatever.

"Political beliefs" are not necessarily applicable to Judeo/Christian/Biblical values. But they aren't necessarily not applicable either. You cannot believe that killing the unborn is okay and still be in line with scripture. You cannot believe that homosexuality is not immoral and still be congruent with the Bible. Things like that.

That's not to say that a Republican cannot take an immoral political stand, but if you read the party platforms, one holds to biblical values and one does not. That's just the facts on a purely platform basis.

I find the statements on this thread to be interesting to say the least. Apparently it's 'okay' to be Christian, that is if you support the President. Otherwise you could be open game.

With each post I have done, I have become more and more sarcastic. Mel hasn't offended me. I haven't seen the movie and Hannity is definitely a businessman. ho hum. I am for capitalism too, but I prefer Rush to Hannity mmmmmkay?

AND I AM DEFINITELY SUPPORTING PRESIDENT BUSH INSTEAD OF LYING LURCH.

On issues unrelated to sex and procreation, care to discourse on the Christian nature of the Dem or GOP platforms?

what will be much more amusing to watch is the Cheerleaders who have called Gibson nothing short of God recently now turn on him like rabid dogs. That will be worth the price of admission alone.

Many conservatives, including myself, have some doubts about Bush. Generally that he is letting the Government spend too much money trying to appease the Liberals.

Its not the same thing as voting for John War-Crimes-At-All-Levels-Of-Command Kerry.

Gibson strikes me as a conservative, but it isn't a crime not to be, why should anyone turn on him if he isn't?
