I will put in my vote to restore the Masonic Thread. I found it to be most enlightening. While I admit that it was contentious at times, that is where we learn about our beliefs and that is how we test our mettle.
I had stopped posting to it at post 1125. I signed off and said my goodbyes. I had thought that I had made whatever points I thought needed to be made. I then bookmarked it to my favorite link page and the next thing I knew it was gone.
If we can't discuss the issue amongst ourselves without the threat of the thread being pulled, then we will never learn to understand the other side's positions. We need to be able to discuss these things without fear that some single person with a bad attitude and a penchant for using the abuse button will manage to get the entire thread pulled. Pull the attack posts if you must, but restore the thread. There is a lot of valuable information there and a lot of intelligent discussion of important issues that cross the lines between politics and religion and history and government.
Please Mods, restore the thread for posterity. Lock it if you must, but leave it there for future reference.
Here's the Link. Bring it back!
Thanks, Marlowe

I will second your vote to have the thread restored. While there was a lot of disagreement on what was being discussed, most seemed to be enjoying themselves thoroughly.
The material is an important part of our country, our history and does have bearing on our political life as well.

Thank you, P-M
I'm afraid the latest posters have only read the last few pages and are getting a totally wrong impression about what was said and why (and how little was said in comparison to the discussion over it). And there's no history now to support us.
You and I and others may have had some very strong disagreements, but we weren't ugly to each other. We didn't need our own posts pulled, or take it to such an extreme that a 1300+ thread was deleted.
But we are the meanies.

It was my fault they'll never put it back.
I need to learn to let things go.
