I know this is probably some fodder for Canada-bashers but here it is anyway...

Summary of the poll:

74% says Canada did the right thing by not supporting the US in the Iraq war

63% say the US made a mistake going to war

67% say Bush lied to justify war

61% say a true democracy will never come to Iraq

87% agree the world is a better place without Saddam

69% think the US has learned a lesson not to act alone

54% disagree that going to war was justified by the events of 9/11

Creative push polling for the Canadian sheeple.

To be fair, they should be asked this question:

"Do you believe Chretien's opposition to the war was influenced by his family's interests in the oil company TotalFinaElf?"

The question they forgot to ask is:

"Would the US war in Iraq have been necessary if the UN had lived up to its responsibility to enforce it's own resolutions?"

Refreshing:

Top ten reasons why Canada refused to join coalition forces

10. We have no way of getting there.
9. We're too busy at home with the maple syrup season.
8. Iraqis don't drink Labatt's beer.
7. Saddam's name pronounced backwards is "Mad Ass". We'll stay away from him.
6. There is only limited potential for sales of Canadian bacon in Iraq after the war.
5. Our Sea King helicopter was damaged and needs repairs.
4. Céline Dion can't sing to the troops because she has a contract in Las Vegas.
3. The rivers in Iraq are too shallow for our war canoes.
2. Our army is needed at home in case of another snow storm in Toronto.

And the Number 1 Reason Why Canada Refused to Join the USA in the War on Iraq

1. HELLO! HOCKEY PLAYOFFS STARTED!

Actually, that is a very good question. Many here believe the UN has no teeth.

What is that supposed to mean? What an oddball question....

Yes, I thought it was strange as well. I'd like to know who actually fills out these polls.

I agree, which makes me wonder who was doing the polling and what agenda they had.

On the one hand, they say the US "acts alone" then on the other hand they say Spain was attacked because they allied themselves with the US...which is it?

News services can no longer be called news they are nothing but propaganda services leading the group think. Unless you are savy enough to know where to go on the internet or radio, there is no way to find real news. To bad there is no way to fix the problem.

Reminds me of the "Black Kettle" defense.

A man borrowed a friend's black kettle. When he brought it back, it was broken. When the owner asked the borrower to pay to fix it, the borrower says, "The kettle was broken when I borrowed it, and it's not broken anyway."

Thanks ... typically one thinks of Canada in terms of being north of the 49th. There are many parts below the 49th, as I am here on the east coast.

It is always prudent to wonder who did the poll and why.
