Democrats cheer Socialist victory in Spain as Bush ally is blamed for Madrid blast

Various Democrats took to the internet on Sunday cheering the defeat of the party of Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar in the general elections. Several congratulated the Spanish people for what they saw as a justified rejection of the war on terror.

Exit polls from the election showed vast numbers of the electorate blaming the terrorist attack in Madrid on Spain's support of President Bush's position on Iraq.

Prime Minister Aznar is one of Bush's strongest allies, and Spain is one of the few countries that contributed significantly to the military effort in Iraq.

One Democrat writing in an online forum hoped this would be the beginning of a worldwide leftleaning landslide, which would sweep pacifist parties, including the Democratic party in the US, to power.

Another one expressed elation and thanked the Spanish people for "putting an end" to that country's war on terror, which he called a "charade".

This is the single most important event since 9-11, it proves that terrorists can achieve their goals and that terrorism can pay. Kerry wants to go back to the days of Clinton's Terrorist Operations, where everyone likes us again, something I've learned is that you can't please people, it's better not to be liked. But, then what if the American public says " Enough is Enough."

What in all that's holy do these people think will happen once the jig is up and they do realize they have to fight?

As one of our forefathers once said, "Those who will not fight for freedom are unworthy of it."

I pray our own country will stay the course through this election season and re-elect President Bush.

I'm not sure I am buying this idea that a terror attack in the US means gives Kerry the presidency. in fact, the higher that terrorism rises on the list of things people are concerned about, the worse off Kerry is.

If Spain retreats because of being attacked then the arguments for unilateral action on our part is enhanced.

I think that the Spanish people have played right into the hands of the terrorists.

Exactly, and they will find that appeasement is essentially the same thing as capitulation.

Let's see Kerry or the Dem leaders come out and praise the Socialist win in Spain and the lose of an ally in the war on terrorism.

You better believe they would be considered traitors and would lose big time in November.

Now Kerry has a foreign leader to support him.

I would laugh if it wasn't so sad.

That photo disgusts me more than any fake photo with Jane Fonda ever would. It needs to be circulated.

The odds of a major attack in the USA just went up 1,000%. The lesson the terrorists will take from Madrid is that they can cause jihad appeasers to win elections with a few bombs. I don't think that Americans will react like the Spanish, we may go the other way, but the muslims are going to pull out all the stops now to help Kerry win the election.

The terrorists may learn the wrong lesson from Madrid. They will now believe that they can throw the election to appeaser Kerry with a major attack in October.

But the opposite may happen, and they may get more than they bargain for in return. A lot more.

Also, they may not figure on the response of a fully enraged lame-duck GW Bush. Three months can be a long time for kicking islamofascist ass.

All they have to do is become Muslims, veil their women, condemn Israel and democracy, turn their nation into a ruined heap and then wait to be ruled by religious tyrants. What smart people these Spaniards are.

EXACTLY! Expect it to occur a week or two prior to November's election. Expect the Dumbocrats to blame it all on Bush because 1)they really haven't a clue about terrorism and they actually believe that Bush is more evil than Osama and 2)they have no problem stepping on a pile of bloody body parts just to get their man in office.

Yes, this election in Spain is a great victory for Al Qaeda which will inspire them to produce a great slaughter of Americans in October. I certainly hope I'm wrong.

I think it'll happen, but that Americans will react differently from the Spanish.

I wonder if Aznar had come out with a major Blair-like speech about islamic terror, instead of leaking the ETA bogus leads, if it would have made a difference?

At least that party in Spain is honest about who they are, Socialists. They are stealth here, called Democrats instead. They don't have the guts to come right out and tell the American people who and what they really are. The fact that they are cheering on this Socialist victory speaks volumes. I feel for the people of Spain, who have just played into the enemies hands.
