If you lived in Moscow, by this time today you would, probably, have cast your vote in the presidential election. With Vladimir Putin expecting nearly 70 percent of the vote, chances are that seven out of every 10 voters are feeling a sense of duty well done.

The Putin camp claims that its man was the only candidate capable of winning. Not true. There were at least three other candidates with a national following who decided not to enter the competition.

Good for them. Now the three won't end up in one of Putin's camps.

Was George Washington a dictator because he ran unopposed-twice? There were plenty of Americans capable of being president with a national following at that time and they stayed out of the race.

Of course not! Unlike George Washington, Putin had a vocal opposition - Washington ran unoppossed.
