I'm with you, but remember, not all Spaniards voted to Surrender today.

It must be dang tough to be a Spanish conservative today, Realizing that the majority of your countrymen would fall to their knees, beg for mercy, and kiss the feet of their new Muslim masters.

What today's election has shown, if the Socialists are victorious, that all AQ has to do is blow some people up to completely own the European agenda. They might as well try and do the same in Italy, the UK, and Portugal, because there's a chance they can get the same net result there too, and take care of some "infidels" in the process.

I really did think the Spaniards were better than cowering in the corner. The Frenchiness in them is showing, and I am thoroughly disappointed that the voters have backed down. This has done nothing but embolden terrorists and their appeasers.

It's very sad news. When Sky News posted their news alert I was delighted.

The champagne bottles are being popped in Tora Bora as we speak.

Everything should be approached with an open mind. Evidence should not be dismissed in order to maintain that open mind.

Heck, I approach this with an open mind too. My mind is just as open as that of Spanish intelligence. They think there's a 99% chance that Islamists did this and so do I.

Well, they have almost said as much. Just think of the French ambassador in London and his remark about "Why do we [EU] have to suffer that sh...y little country (Israel)".

The quote may not be totally accurate but according to Barbera Amiel that is what he meant. And he is not the alone...

Aznar did not wait until the next day that very evening, he denounced the Basques terrorists.

I think November is three years exactly after the last election. Since the PM has the election power there, he could call an election next week if he wanted to. I think Australia's election will end up around the same time as ours, give or take a month or two.

And not that they're a particularly good WOT ally, but Canada will be having an election this year as well (probably in June).

Note that our team is gaining all the time. 146 a few minutes ago. It may be too late though.

Considering that EADS was formed by the French company Aerospatiale Mitra buying out Spain's largest defense contractor CASA, and the French government owns 50% of EADS. I would doubt the Spanish would even have a say in it.

My mind is just as open as that of Spanish intelligence. They think there's a 99% chance that Islamists did this and so do I.

Really, or is that 99% claim only the one made yesterday in that single report from the socialist-aligned radio station, quoting the usual 'unnamed sources'(could very well be the Spanish equivalent of Joe Wilson/Clinton-holdover types) that got picked up by every media outlet to become historical gospel truth? This report?

Spain's spies see Muslims behind attack-radio

I too lean Islamist involvement, but in no way could I have ruled out ETA on Thursday and Friday based on the information and background available at that time. Thus I think it wrong to fault the Spanish gov't for not ruling out ETA then, or even now. And I remain skeptical of this single source, though it could end up being true.

everyone and his mother knew that it was the Muslims. the Basque modus operandi has been to hit police and military targets, not civilians. and the Spanish Socialists don't have any appreciable policy differences towards the Basque country.
