BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Two separate roadside bomb blasts in Baghdad killed four U.S. soldiers, the U.S. Army said on Sunday. A spokesman said three soldiers were killed and one wounded in a blast around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday in southeast Baghdad. Another soldier was wounded when a roadside bomb exploded at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday and later died of his wounds.
The attacks brought to 389 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in action in Iraq since the start of the war to oust Saddam Hussein

There is no alternative. If we cut and run, its simply a question of time before they hit the homeland again. With attacks that will make 9-11 look like the prelude to the Main Event.

With 3,000 dead on 9/11/01 and 200 dead on 3/11/04, with the war started by the islamofascists and their liberal lackeys in the press cheering the islmofascists every move.

They're overjoyed over at DU. This is exactly the news they've been praying for. Bad news for America is good news for the Democrats.

True.... unfortunately, the Sept. 10th Americans live in an entirely different universe. What would bring them sadistic satisfaction is to see America beaten and crawling home with its tail between its legs.

Notice the irony that the "people" who were upset at us taking "body counts" during the Vietnam War are keeping one going now only using our troops.
Liberals are scum.

It is always sad to see the brave men and women of the armed forces and civilians die due to the actions of the islamofascists but appeasement like the democrats preach today didn't stop hitler from killing tens of thousands of Britons and millions of other innocents in Europe in the 40's.

I am for the War in Iraq and Terror, but still feel sad when brave men/women die.... I understand that, but all I am trying to do is bring some perspective.
These brave men and women do not die in vain as the democrats and the press try to portray. They are on the front lines fighting against terrorism to help preserve freedom and liberty.

Notice the irony that the "people" who were upset at us taking "body counts" during the Vietnam War are keeping one going now only using our troops. Liberals are scum.I heard some liberal recently mention the number "1000". It appears that if/when that number arrives, the liberals will declare the war on terror lost. They will then demand that all troops be pulled out everywhere, and start calling for the impeachment of Bush.
They choose not to realize that America lost 3000 civilian lives in about an hour on 9-11, making it the bloodiest hour in our history. And they are perfectly happy to dance on the graves of civilian and military alike, as long as it brings them back into power.
All of their obscene efforts gives me the impression that they intend never to leave, if they ever get back into power again.

I, too, feel sadness. However, we have no choice but to continue to bring the war to the terrorists.
Many have tried to draw parallels between the Vietnam and Iraq Wars. I do not find many.
Yes, there are the usual suspects who dwell on the negative. However, there is no longer the "silent majority" that Nixon referred to. Just look around. Supporters of the war are found everywhere, and they are extremely vocal.
The Vietnam War taught our military planners and our politicians what NOT to do.
Perhaps the greatest thing we learned from Vietnam is how important it is for the Iraqis to eventually bear the brunt of prosecuting the war and policing the cities and countryside. It would have been a HUGE mistake for commanders to call for more and more troops. This was our downfall in Vietnam.
Be patient. We are undertaking a task that is profoundly worthwhile. Those who have died did so by performing their duty when their country called. I should add that they knew exactly what they were fighting for-unlike those who see their mission as a "war for oil". We should never forget them and we should remember to pray for their families.
