I can't believe this tripe made it into Townhall

America may have been founded mostly by Christians but it wasn't founded on Christianity. There is nothing in the Bible that our government is founded on. Romans chapter 13 and Galatians chapter 5 if we are to believe the Bible shows America wouldn't be the type of government God would have wanted. The Bible is full of blood thirsty and sex crazed kings and tyrants with no Republics or Democracies to speak of.

And this whole idea that Christian religion correlates with morality is not backed up by the facts

From 1991 to 2001, The Number of the non-religious doubled in number while at the same time the number calling themselves Christians declined by 10% 

this decline in Christianity is especially seen in young people.

Yet the even though the younger generations are the most unchristian there is violent crime rate has declined through this period, as well as The pregnancy rate for unmarried women has continuously declined through the 1990s and the abortion rate dropped by about 25 percent for both married and unmarried women through the 1990s , The teen Pregnancy Rate Reached a Record Low, More Teenagers are saying no to sex and Drug use by teenagers continues to decline.

Granted we still have a long way to go, But things are improving and it has nothing to do with Christianity. If lack of Christianity caused all the bad things the fundamentalist claim then why as Christianity declines are things getting better? Sorry but if and when Christianity fades it would have no bearing on the morals and/or survival of America

Methinks reports of Christianity's death were greatly exaggerated; look at box office reports for a sign that there may be a comeback.

I think people are increasingly rejecting anti-Christian liberalism. They may not have fully embraced Christianity, but the rejection of anti-Christian liberalism is a key first step, and one which will pay big dividends in many secular ways as well.
