Americans in gun sights of Mexican army

You'd think frequent gun battles along the U.S.-Mexico border between federal agents and citizen border-monitoring groups on this side, and drug and people smugglers on the other side, would make the national headlines.

If you thought that, you'd be mistaken. Just ask Chris Simcox, owner of the Tombstone (Ariz.) Tumbleweed newspaper, and head of one such border group. He's trying to get the word out; few are listening and, apparently, that includes anyone in Washington.

I agree with those who are now being shot at, that the Bush Amnesty proposal has caused a sharp increase of illegals crossing the border.

(Peace!) - blame those who are trying to protect us as the reason the insane hate us - and that, if we do so, we may as well surrender right now. I am not blaming Bush. I am telling him, better change some of his opinions about the border. Better lock and load, and lock down the border.

And I agree with those who are now being shot at - kill or be killed.

The Democrats don't want the border controlled, either. The illegals from Mexico are their future "shock troops" in future elections.

The Washington Times military analyst Rowan Scarborough has a new book out that quotes a secret DIA report warning that Mexico could become the next major failed state.

When a state's armed forces devolve into free-lance narcoterrorists, as the Mexican army has, probably that state is not long for this world.

It's getting to the point where a rancher on the border has to pack an assault rifle at all times to have a fighting chance of survival. Something's wrong with that picture.

I agree that Mexican immigration is not one of Bush's strong points. His amnesty plan was foolish and politically stupid. We haven't heard much more about it, and possibly he has had second thoughts after the firestorm of protests.

But anyone who thinks Kerry would conceivably campaign on a platform of closing the Mexican border has got to be out of his mind. If he did that he would lose half his base. He would be lynched by his own supporters. Never happen. Bad as the Republicans have been on this issue, the Democrats are much worse.

The meddling employees of the corrupt government of Mexico have demanded (along with some "Americans") that something be done about the "vigilantes," meaning the patriots patroling to protect private property.

I've written my congressman asking that the Congress keep a close watch on federal law enforcement intentions. I do not want to see Waco-style assaults on citizens. Already several including Mr. Simcox have been arrested and charged. The patriots say they are not backing off.

A recent Tucson Citizen article "Activists hope to take down 'vigilantes'," by Luke Turf, describes some of the efforts to get state and federal agencies to go after the patriots.

You'd think that an AMERICAN PRESIDENT might be concerned about this and put a stop to it. Simply put, Bush doesn't care. If he cared he would have closed the borders after 9/11. Flooding America with cheap labor and potential voters is the plan of his handlers.
