Gee. Who has such power, especially as random assemblies of chemicals brought about by a purposeless cause? What reason is there for us to be sensitive to scolding?

But for most humans it is "tormenting" to be faced with the limits of reason, discipline, morality and vitality. It is so for me at times, anyway. Who was it that said, "Have you come to torment us?"

Gosh, isn't this productive!

I think this thread has been productive indeed, and I am grateful to you for participating, just as I am grateful to js1138 for starting it. One cannot expect to participate here without experiencing a certain amount of adversarial tone. It is no different amidst the scientific community itself, let alone the whole of humanity.
