Well, that's probably true. We certainly won't have any access to any sort of computer use at that point. Heck, we won't even have tv.

I think our shortwave radio is okay, but I may just pay a visit to Radio Shack or something like it one of these days.

I'll never learn ham soon enough, though I've always wanted to. Never got to it.

Smoke signals -- I hope it doesn't get to that point, but who knows.

Don't bother with Radio Shack, they don't live up to their namesake any more. You would be lucky to find a shortwave reciever there. If you would like, I can direct you to some reputable Internet stores that sell SW radios.
