WASHINGTON (CNN) -- This week's deadly train bombings in Spain will not lead to a rise in the U.S. color-coded terror threat alert system, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Friday.
"Based on the current intelligence, we have no specific indicators that terrorist groups are considering such an attack in the U.S. in the near term," said department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

Okay.....you scared me. The only thing separating me and mine from Yellowstone is Wyoming. We are 400 miles due east of there. My children are even closer, living in Wyo. I've been reading all this stuff about the caldera for several months. Been to Yellowstone many, many times. I would really hate to see it blow.....I would hate it even more for it to blow us up. (Yuk, this almost sounds like a Clinton/Lewinsky thingy.)

Did you hear President Bush at the media dinner tonight? His opening line was that he was sorry Don Rumsfeld wasn't there. He said guess what Rummy's favorite TV show is? Queer Eye For The Straight Guy. Got a big laugh.
"W" was really great tonight, he looked very spiffy as well. Looking good considering what he must go through each day.

USPS carriers may deliver medicine in event of catastrophic incident Well that's pretty cool. I must admit it hadn't occured to me that we had a distribution system in place but clearly others were using their noggins. I intend to do my part to prepare my family as I see fit, but it's nice to know that there might be a safety net after all.

What you describe sounds to me a celestial event as depicted on the islamic flag...the crescent and the 'bright star' that is Venus. Ancient texts of the ME all tell of a catastrophic event that occurred around 1,500 BCE with the same astrological/astronomical sign. To the arabs this is the signal of the return of the same catastrophe; allah will hurl down burning stones, cause earthquakes, volcanoes; black winds, earthquakes etc. Understanding history is the best antedote to superstition. During an ancient catastrophic event, Egypt and Mesopotamia were almost totally destroyed. The arabs fled the peninsula, took over egypt and ruled there for 500 years. (They built no monuments, left no evidence of their existence, but treated the egyptian survivors with great cruelty.) I. Velikovsky. Ages In Chaos.
The arab tribes saw this is allah's wish for them to rule the world. (He did their killing for them.) They are praying for the same thing to happen again. And doing all they can to help the 'prophecy' (ancient history) to repeat istelf. (Sure beats going to work.)
As for me, I can't wait to see Venus tonight, (in Oz.) Because I know the Solar System wasn't organised to suit a bunch of useless parasites. Accidents may happen...they have the same change of getting hit on the head as I have. Idiots. Their brains are scrambled.

Oh Man, I agree. While packing, I was watching the hearings. What a totally political farce. Dick Clarke and his "American Grandstand" about made me want to puke. I couldn't believe how the audience applauded him and the partisan members of the commission treated him like a minor deity. Condi was on Hannity and kind of blew him out of the water. I really hope the truth comes out about the slimy, scum sucking, bottom feeding, opportunist, book-selling, boot-licking, weasle. I could come up with more descriptions, but I am a southern-bred, steel magnolia, old lady. So I shall refrain.

There was a post by someone on the 9-11 thread that said the White House was getting ready to blow this guy out of the water on Sunday.
What was pathetic I thought were the 9-11 families laughing and applauding in the gallery for this lying leach. I pray for the 9-11 families who don't want to politicize their loved ones deaths. It was a love fest between Richard Ben-Veniste, Bob Kerrey and this Clarke.
They keep asking for Condi Rice, where is she, why won't she answer our questons. They are so stupid. I was going to send Ben Veniste an envelope with rice in it, but I decided it would probably close down the mail room.

They are still living in the 16th century. These fanatics are all brainwashed and very dangerous. Their stupidity makes them even more dangerous because they don't care if they die in their martyrdom act.
They took down two buildings, 4 planes and part of the Pentagon with box cutters for weapons.

I'm afraid I missed it. Hope to catch it later on C-Span.
Our son was here giving me lessons on the new laptop I'm taking to S.A. I am such a computer nerd, and it took repeated repetitions before the lessons sunk in.
President Bush is my hero and inspiration. Rumsfeld, my intellectual stimulus....he tolerates NO B.S. Cheney is a personal favorite because we know him and his lovely wife, Lynn. We worked on many campaigns together during our 25 years in Wyoming. He is incapable of deceit and is a true patriot.

What no one has mentioned is that Condi did testify for four hours in a closed session before the Commission. They all act like she has been totally avoiding the hearings....and that just isn't true. The make me ill.
