It may be that they were chained in the airplane during that first flight. That would be standard treatment for dangerous prisoners. The rest of this is nonsense.
I expect this kind of stuff from the Independent or the Guardian, but I'm surprised to see that kind of headline in the Telegraph. They should know better.

You should read the original
Mirror article. The accusations are just laughable.
- One said an American girl had smeared menstrual blood across his face in an act of humiliation.
- The strike started after a guard deliberately kicked a copy of the Koran.
- They would shut off the water before prayers so we couldn't wash ourselves according to our religion.
- In Camp X-Ray my cage was right next to a kennel housing an Alsatian dog. "He had a wooden house with air conditioning and green grass to exercise on. I said to the guards, 'I want his rights' and they replied, 'That dog is member of the US army'.
And throughout it, he's just Mr. Tough Guy, refusing comfort.
But the best is this (Onelifetogive pointed it out):
"When I did meet the other Brits, we would reminisce about home - particularly the food.
And just remember, Jamal is a convert. This is important for a window into his character.

To heck with all of socialistic Europe. I am sure that right now, there are a bunch of Spaniards that would love to volunteer at Gitmo to help with interregations.

and claimed they beat him with batons, fists and feet, shouting, "Comply, comply, comply"Yeah, right. That's exactly what your standard American soldier from Iowa would say. UmmmHmmmm.

Where IS Madivan? Haven't seen him around lately A while ago I heard that he had a new job that doesn't let him post anymore and/or it is keeping him too busy to do so.
Too bad, I really liked his take on the Continent. I would be really interested in what he has to say about Spain.

I can handle the insult to my country's morality. One expects no more from such sources.
I am really peeved, however, at the insult to our intelligence.
What is happening here is that these scum are accusing us of the usual practices of Arab law enforcement and counterintelligence services. They don't get it -- even if we were that brutal, we are not so primitive as to need such crude and inefficient methods.
Besides how crazy we we have to be to do these things with the whole anti-American internationalist establishment worldwide panting for something concrete to pin on us?
To: Rhys Ifans
If you look carefully, all of his accusations are supposed to make Muslims angry. The weird ones all have to do with purity as defined by the Koran (dogs are unclean creatures).

This is quite a contrast to what those 2 boys who were released back to Afghanistan said... On of them can't wait for the chance to actually come to America.
