Happens pretty regularly here in the Phoenix area. Urban dog/cat control.

A coyote that will snatch an 11-pound dog and jump over the fence with it, will consider an 11-pound human infant to be an even tastier treat, if it can get to the kid.

Wouldn't be a problem if goddam hippies would let us shoot the wiley bastards.

A couple of these would solve any Coyote problem.
Norwegian Elkhounds tend to have a innate antipathy toward coyotes.

At 2 a.m. Sunday, a coyote killed her and snatched her from her back yard. The 3-year-old dog, named Dublin......
What was the coyote's nickname? Wolfie?

These upper crusters should adopt a coyote instead of having purebred dogs. Make coyotes into pets. Problem solved!

"We are devastated," Patricia Borawski said. "My husband slept with his head on the dog's bed and cried out her name."
Patricia has a very big mouth...she has brought shame on her husband by telling this to the world.

The coyote had jumped a 2-foot-high fence in the back yard and attacked the small dog. I've seen coyotes jump SIX-ft high fences. Usually they sort of clamber over, but one time -- when I was chasing one away from my chicken coop -- the coyote took a flying leap and soared over the 6 ft. chain link fence with substantial airspace between him and the fence top.

My husband slept with his head on the dog's bed and cried out her name.Near our house, there were a bunch of animals killed by coyotes about three years ago. Dogs, chickens, geese. Some of the neighbors got together and held a coyote hunt.
It was much more constructive than juvenile exhibitions of grief and more satisfying.

Coyote comes back an hour later-still hungry. ( That's the trouble with eating Chinese...)

Isn't nature grand?
In California the wildlife has taken to eating the occasional mountain biker, so these New Yorkers still have something to look forward to.

A solvable problem - a bounty on coyote pelts. $75 oughta do it.
