HEINZ ENDOWMENTS: HARDLY EXTREMIST
NY Post ^ | 3/12/04 | Maxwell King

Your allegation ["(Mrs.) Kerry's Cash Connection," Editorial, March 9] that an organization called Peaceful Tomorrows has received funding from foundations directed by Teresa Heinz Kerry is flat-out wrong.

The allegation rests on a false assumption - that Heinz Endowments funding of the Tides Center for projects in western Pennsylvania is "fungible," as you state in your editorial, and so can be redirected to other causes.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but King nowhere directly denied that Heinz foundation money ever went to Peaceful Tomorrows.

Seems like Mr. Maxwell is inviting closer scrutiny of the Heinz (socialist) philanthropy ... I say we take him up on the offer.

like Heinz, with strong centrist agendas
=======================================

When she says that, you know she is lying. This is a B.S. denial. The outrage was a setup from the beginning.

For a money man, he doesn't know what the term "fungible" means.

Suppose I give $100 to a group specifically to be passed on to a group supporting gun rights. My intention is to increse the funding of that group by $100 dollars, right?

But what if the group I give the money to reduces the amount they are already giving to that group by $100, then adds my $100 to the total. Technically, they have followed the agreement, but the group I am supporting doesn't get any more money.

Then, what if they take the $100 they saved on the gun rights group, and give it to an abortion rights group, which I violently oppose...

My giving them the money for one purpose allowed them to use an equal amount for another purpose. That is what is meant when they say money is fungible. Even though they can technically say my money was not used for the abortion group, my giving it to them for purpose I supported allowed them to use other money for a purpose I oppose.

No correction is needed.

He is purposely misconstuing the explanation of the fungible transfer of money. Of course the Heinz money was used to fund the greeney interests in Pa., but that doesn't mean that other money that would have been spent on those projects wasn't spent on the Peaceful tomorrows campaign. More likely though, it's simply a quid pro quo situation that is totally untraceable.

A non-denial denial from a money launderer, who is pretending that he doesn't know what fungible means.
